The plant I see when I drive by it twice a week is dark purple, none of that mauvey pink wannabe ersatz purple.

I have bought several from him as well as tons of other things and everything arrives healthy and thrives. But they are starter plants about 6-12" tall. Have a look at Cal.'Gawler Hybrid', sometimes labelled 'Harkness' This is the height you are looking for and has the longest flower of the Callistemons in a bright red.It also has a semi weeping habit which is most attractive The good thing about Callistemons is they are very forgiving if you do wish to prune, bouncing back with ease.
