I've used regular craft paint in the past to paint designs or stamp on my terra cotta pots, but I've never sealed them... I've allowed the designs to age naturally and fade, giving them a shabby-chic look. I couldn't tell you what to seal the inside of a pot with... I'm not sure what would be considered safe for edibles. I'm sure you could find something available at your larger craft stores, like Hobby Lobby or Michael's... I, personally, wouldn't want to seal the pots as this would void the very reason why clay pots are healthier for plants... they breathe and allow excess salts to leach out through the porous material...

Thanks again. I went to the medical ward yesterday and explained the situation. I advised the vet tech that I was concerned as the Manager had directed me to the petstore (when I told her I had someone who might adopt one of my ex fosters) and that the woman and myself made the trip to the petstore neither cat was there. Another tech confirmed that my two ex fosters had never left the shelter. What apparently happened is when I brought them in for their boosters (I brought three of my fosters in at this time as they are litter mates) someone on staff did not give them their boosters but instead just gave them dewormer. It was a mistake but it was later caught (but I was NEVER notified that my third foster kitten who was at the same appointment had NEVER received her boosters as well. I have her at home.) Even at the medical ward I had to have them look this up to see if she was affected by this mix up (she was). They said I have to bring her in for boosters ASAP or they will have to start all over again. She is six months old and it will be more difficult to adopt her out the older she gets (as a kitten). I understand human error (and the poor girl appologized several times even though I wasn't mad just cocerned) I also found out that they haven't kept me up to date on another foster (adult cat) that I have in my care. She is past due for her boosters as well and I have to bring her in NOW or her shots are no good basically. If I hadn't questioned anything I'd have all these cats that weren't being taken care of (as far as their vaccinations). I was not permitted to see my two ex foster kittens but was told they are in the medical ward (and had been there since before Christmas!) and one is sick with a respiratory infection and the other is fine but in quarantine becasue they had to start his vaccinations all over and he had just received his 2nd booster that day so he will be released (for potential adoption) in a week. While I was talking to the two vet techs the manager came down and didn't even say hello to me (I volunteer there three days a week, worked christmas eve, thanksgiving and new years eve!!) and she just ignored me and I told her I was here to straighten out the mix up about my fosters and she didn't even say "oh yeah I told her they were at the petstore and they weren't sorry.. Instead she made a comment (when I told the vet tech that I had an appt the next day to bring my fourth foster (older kitten) in because he'd been limping for a few days. The manager laughed and made a joke saying "he's a porker he's probably just too fat to walk." First of all the cat is normal weight (he's about 7 lbs and 8 months old) so I have no idea why she thought that was appropriate. When I first came in I explained to the two vet techs that I was advised not to get information from the manager and to go to medical instead (to explain why I was there when they were closed to the public) I also told them I'm a volunteer. The first vet tech demanded to know who told me not to talk to the manager (she must be a friend of hers) and I said I didn't know- a volunteer at the pet store. The other vet tech laughed and told the girl who had told me this (she must have been there) Then the 1st vet tech started defending the manager. Ok well someone explain WHY she told me that my fosters were at the petstore instead of in quarantine for the last two weeks? And since she is in charge of the foster cats why didn't she call me (or tell me one of the hundred times I was at the shelter) that my 3rd foster kitten needed new booster shots (like the other two that I had surrended to them) It just really upsets me. I don't want to quit volunteering there (for the animals' sake) but I'm really uncomfortable with this manager.

Too funny -- and very well said! I just want to know who voted those jerks in who decide what colors we will be able to buy next year? Do you have any idea how hard it was to look good in green when there were no green anything to be found anywhere outside of a thrift shop for years and years? Those green things were getting pretty old before they decided green was "in" again. I was starting to look genuinely ratty. I love pale peach, but it will probably be back "in" the year after I'm dead.
