I'm not in Hawaii (except in spirit!), but I've successfully grown fantastic papayas in Texas just from what popped up on my compost! Why not just go down to an organic food store and buy an organic papaya there? It'll work! Even if it's not organic, hybrids tend to revert back to their older stock-- i.e. they're not "true to type," and will revert back to a heritage variety-- at least with tomatoes, anyway. I think papaya ought to be similar.

I recommend Johnny's Select Seeds. I remember seeing wildflowers and mixes on their website in 1, 2 and 5-pound bags. Not sure what they have available now, but their quality is outstanding.

by adding price to the name of the plant.. is a good way to find sellers of any given plant or seed .. adding TX to the search terms adds nothing .. that i saw anyway ... btw .. do you have a light setup to grow vigorous seeds indoors... or can you do this outdoors in TX? ..... or are you going to try winter sowing.. there is a forum for such.. but i dont know how active it is.. though one would think it would be in winter... ken https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=penta+seed+price&ia=web

cultivar colors will NOT come true from seed ... so you are left with zen's suggestion of species ... MOST mums you see in fall... are rooted cuttings... they root ridiculously fast .. and easily.. and since you cut back more plants 2 or 3 times for the fall bloom.. you could probably have a couple thousand plants by fall ... so.. if all else fails.. buy one in fall.. make sure it survives winter.. and propagate your brains out next season ... https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=mum+propagatio&iax=videos&ia=videos al\so.. per zen.. mums is a rather common name meaning a bunch of different plants.. so if you are not talking about the ones i replied about.. well;.. dont use the common name ... or explain better ... ken
