Fun Gina! Mom and I did go to the Date Festival and the street fair last year. The only down side was that it was a very short trip and the weather was cold and rainy when I was there!! I know it wasn't the norm, but still made for a cold day at the Festival. I loved the street fair. The other fun one is every weekend flea market/craft show at the College of the Desert. Really enjoyed that too. We're actually going to Palm Springs again in April. We'll be there the 10th-17th I think. Not sure what events might be happening that week, but mostly going to relax by the pool anyway! I have beveled cedar siding on the majority of my 33-year old home's exterior. I have Hardie Plank on my Sun Room addition and bonus room shed dormer. I get regular hands-on practice in rot repair, but wish I didn't need to. Unless you're going for the look of stain-grade cedar, I encourage you to rethink your aversion to Hardie Plank. That said, if you still want clear cedar siding delivered direct to your site, give the folks at Buffalo Lumber in McMinnville, TN a call. They can pre-finish which I highly recommend. We get cypress stocked locally in our area, so can't help you with a good direct ship source for that. Best wishes for a successful project.
