What is the name of the plant thet beautiful butterfly is on? I am preparing a flower bed now to be used as a butterfly/hummingbird garden.

Barnabus, right now I cannot think of the plants name. I planted most of the plants in my garden about 14 years ago. I will do some research and let you know if I can remember.

I do know that I have a lot of liatrus, in my garden which attracts both butterflies and hummingbirds. Butterfly weed is also good for butterflies. Good luck with your garden.

Hi! I love PA and its history. I lived out in the eastern part of the state for a while and the Harley Davidson plant is pretty cool...so are the little towns of Amish (as suggested above). If you're heading up to Erie (Presque Isle is GREAT!!!!) you could hit Oil City and check out the great old mansioins and museums. If you're heading north, check out the Allegheny Nat'l Park, too...there are tons of great places to stay for a night in a cabin on the lake. If you head south, you can always hit the city of Pittsburgh and take in the history there. The science center, station square, museums and strip district are always fun...even for those of us born and raised out here!!!!!!! You could always hit the PS grand canyon, too...heard it is beautiful! Hope you enjoy the trip and I can't wait to hear where you went!!! Take care and journey safe! ~k

>Tory Spelling I place Tori Spelling firmly in the Nepotism Rules category. Frankly, I think she is a homely, unattractive woman who is a celebrity ONLY due to having been allowed on a tv show her famous father produced. The other poster child for this category IMO is Rumer Willis, Bruce and Demi's daughter. That girl has close set beady eyes, a pursed little mouth, a Jay Leno-level prominent chin, and to top if all off the chopped off haircut is unfortunate in the extreme. She clearly has unlimited funds to work with so the body and clothing is usually spiffy. But oh that face! I am 1000% convinced that if she didn't have a famous parents, one of whom is the most gorgeous women in Hollywood, she would never in a million years be getting any paparazzi attention. someone here was wanting one of those 'unfitted' kitchens... an 'old world' look I think she was aiming for. I agree on the kitchens in mags vs those here. my sister often says I spend too much time on here (well being new I've been looking at all the old threads too!) and my thinking is I'm saving a ton of money by looking here and not buying mags - they don't give the input you get here either! I don't have a dh to bonce ideas off of, can't afford a KD and am very slow at making decisions - so starting months in advance to figure all this stuff out doesn't seem a waste of time to me! kitchens here are much more 'real' than those in the mags.

That is a great shot. That butterfly looks like the one in my pic. I have two butterflies. One is white and the other black like yours. Both the white and black one have the same pattern on their rear, where it is blue and orange. I suspect they may be a male and female of the same species; but, I could be wrong. The only draw back to mine is they weren't in such a beautiful setting. I shot mine in White Sulfur Springs in West Virgina. Where was yours taken? I know butterflies have a tremendous range. It doesn't look like anything that delicate can fly as far as they do, or go anywhere that the wind doesn't force them to go.
