Thanks! The roofers don't care; they insist I paint it and have the painter deal with it. The sheet metal guy mentioned something about "due to the size of the chimney vs the sheets of copper, I'd have a seam...And I don't want a seam". Others have advised stainless also due to "water wash off" from the copper, which will "bleed" green all over my nice soon to be newly painted chimney & new white tile roof. Looks functionally correct, but I would have used an off white silicone to fill the riglet instead of the black.

The flashing can match the roof or gutters. The gutters should match the fascia. the downspouts can be the gutter color or what goes best with siding color.

You have a beautiful home. The brick works beautifully with the stucco, giving the home interest and depth. The copper flashing is a wonderful material and the work that was done was done to perfection. Leave it alone. It doesn't need fixed.
