I'm planning a wall to wall vanity in my tiny powder room . I only have less than 38 inches to work with, so I'm going with a built in look. I do agree if I had 65 inches, I'd consider a gap on either side because I like the furniture look, but that limits you to 57 inches, so you have room to pick up that pesty eyeliner pencil that decides to roll off the edge. Look - the oven and cable WILL fit in the space called for in the install specifications. It ain't easy, but it will work...................IF......... 1. Is the junction box in the area set forth in the install instructions? 2. You're sure about the 24" yes? That means there is 24" of carcass for the oven to recess into, not 24" including a frame or a door ect.. 3. There should be a recess on the oven cabinet itself that the power cord slots into when it is installed. It is always a PIA to get the thing to fit in there, you need 3 sets of hands and there is only room for 1/2 a hand most of the time. It is still do-able if you're patient. 4. cutting out the cab backer will make like a lot easier , but often won't solve the problem unless the above conditions are met too. BTW - where is your kitchen designer and contractor in all of this? Have they never run into this before ?

I understand about sticking with budgets. What kind of exhaust fan do you have? If you put one over the shower area and add an automatic humidity timer, that may help with ventilation problems. I'd go for the post at the corner to add stability to the whole thing, especially if the exhaust fan option is to go directly through the wall instead of up through the ceiling and out to the wall. With a washer and dryer in the room, ventilation is important.

@Tara Originally had a custom-made cabinet but it just overwhelmed the small space. That lasted about 10 years before it drove me crazy. Then tried a corner cabinet which worked well until we redid the dining room and opened a wall to the den. Your picture is great, thanks for the visual. The set up now has worked well but the new TV is larger so I thought I would try to minimize it. I have never understood why a previous owner moved the kitchen in the first place to make this walk through room.
