What does Epson Salts do for roses?

User

Epson Salts is a common name for magnesium sulphate and magnesium is a one of the primary micronutrients for roses. What Epson Salts mainly does for the roses is to stimulate the feeder roots making it easier for them to take up and absorb fertilizer. This in turn promotes more cane breaks. A rose only requires a tablespoon of Epson Salts once before bloom and once after bloom. Too much will be toxic to the plant.
