Louis XIV can often be close to black. Blooms very well, very fragrant, pretty hardy in my zone 7 climate. Gets blackspot. My seedling, Jack Daniel. It's a seedling of Louis XIV with tiny blooms on a plant with good vigor. BS prone.. Midnight Blue is usually pretty dark. It's a great bloomer and fragrant. Pretty strong plant but not very fast growing here. Well-branched. I used to grow Black Baccarra but I didn't love it. Here is it looking fairly red:

The tulip's center of diversity is not in Turkey, it is in the Himalaya region around Pamir. It's native range extends from there all along the Levant, Asia Minor, the Balkans and Southern Europe. They were made well known to Northern Europeans because of the love the Ottomans had for them. With regards to roses let's settle it once and for all: 1. There are no very dark almost black like species roses growing in Turkey or anywhere else. 2. There are no hybrid roses grown in Turkey which are not known and grown elsewhere in the world. 3. There are no Hybrid Tea roses that can be reproduced from seeds. 4. There are no roses which appear to the human eye as truly black 5. There are well known rose hybrids which are very dark red which can appear almost black at a cursory glance depending on the bloom age and the lighting conditions under which they are viewed. 6. ALL internet pics which depict truly black HT type roses from Haffeti or anywhere else are fake or altered.

The top pic is that a recent pic or one from summer? In the summer that is normal for them to look like that. They are winter growers. So in the summer the close up real tight like a bud. Especially when getting beat by the sun and low water. Once winter comes around they relax and open up. Yours look like they are getting close to death, but I wouldn't be surprised with a couple days of good rain and they may start to open up. Give them a little longer. If in a 3-4 weeks they don't open up. Just turn em into cuttings;). Here's a little experiment I did. I cut the little Aeonium below and just layed it down on the ground. In the summer it looked like this, but even more closed because this pic was taken Nov. 20. This is what it looks like today. Sorry the pic is not great. The sun is gone.
