lemon punch and maui punch are both good ones. there dwarf types and only get to 3-4 ft if there not really crowded. both have green leaves but grow well in a pot..not sure what to tell you for colored leaves since most of those get very tall. bird of paradise canna is wonderful if your not worried about height.

Cannas will grow in the few temperate regions of the U.S. in the winter months, but because of the shorter length days and longer cool nights they typically perform below summer levels. Results will be heavily predicated on temperature. They often will require more attention to certain pathogens relative to the cold season. Receiving healthy rhizomes will be important but as your warm weather arrives they will have a great early start. Be prepared to supply plenty of water come summer. Kent

Cliff You better not move til you get the plants I shipped to ya! I don't know about the heliconia. . . it may survive the cold weather, but it may take a lot longer to get the "things with all the color" (blooms?). But maybe Ft Pierce isn't as chilly as Apopka - isn't it way souther? This'll be my first winter in years up in Zone 9 (Lake Placid) and so many of the plants I brought up with me might be touchy 'bout the cold. A person can get very spoiled gardening in Zone 10!
