RECIPE: recipe helpe needed - Outrageous Chocolate Cookies

I am on a quest for a simple chocolate cookie recipe which I do not have any more. The Outrageous Chocolate Cookie recipe by Martha Stewart seemed to be almost what I was looking for, so I started assembling it.

Well, I changed a few things - used cocoa (1/2 cup) and oil (2 Tblsp) instead of semi-sweet chocolate; and I didn't whisk the flour and other dry ingredients before adding them to the egg mixture.

I am now at the step where it says to drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheets.

The "dough" is too liquid to *heap* at all! And it is thick enough to burn out the mixer if I beat it much longer.

What can I do to save this? Add flour? To sort of stiffen it up some? Help.

Thanks in advance,

Jane
