I tried emailing you to the address you provided. It keeps bouncing. I cannot copy & paste the list due to the program I use. I will keep trying!

ddkcat, please send your list to my email at free2be_any1@yahoo.com. I think you were interested before but I didn't get your email last time with your list! Tatreanna, I will send you an email in a little bit :) ~Michael

Late to the party here, as usual (btw, I'm a regular annoyance on Cottage and Carolina GW sites, thanks for letting me in here!). Anyway, I have two balloon flower plants, different varieties, and I truly love them both. From the start, one has been tall and needed staking/support which I am really bad at, but early on I ringed it and it truly just looked like a living vase of gorgeous blue balloon flowers. Then I had to move it and have been trying to replicate that vase effect ever since w/minimal success, but keep trying. This year I actually did growing tip prune on it - will see how that works. This tall plant has always bloomed later than it's short cousin, detail to follow. The second plant (short cousin) initially, for the first couple of years, was this very orderly low mounded plant w/great flowers. As the years have gone on (about 6 now) it has grown taller each year, still blooms beautifully, but is more work. I use rolls of garden green coated 12-14" high fencing to surround/support many plants and the balloon plant just got the surround. Don't give up on yours, carrie630, they're so pretty! It is late to emerge and does take much deadheading, but worth the trouble, imo.

My sedums aren't blooming yet, but they were taken from plants just like you said. I stuck them in the dirt and kept them watered. I cut back bee balm, shastas, even my hibiscus. It makes for a fuller plant and lots of blooms. Almost all perennials can tolerate this. Great too for staggering bloom cycles to extend the flowering time. Cut 1/3 of the plant when you see buds. Cut another 1/3 a couple weeks later or just as the buds are opening. Leave 1/3 to bloom as normal. It also staggers the height and helps hold up the tallest stalks that weren't cut back. The Well Tended Perennial Garden. Can't go wrong with that book.
