Wow Jeanne...things ARE looking good in your "shed" garden! Your tipsy buckets look so good...I need to move mine, they are getting too much shade where they are. LOVE the windmill and the million bells is HUGE and GORGEOUS! So many cool accessories..the galvanized containers and the wheel with the zinnias in it are great. What is the tall plant growing right next to your shed...the one with big leaves and tall stalks? Looks really cool! TFS~

Going to go ahead with this plan I drafted earlier for my neighbor. They went out to one the nursey in Westland and got the plants so I plan on working on the rain garden later today.

I am no expert on rain gardens, but a couple of the plant choices for wet soil have me baffled. 1. If by "Butterfly Milkweed" you mean Asclepias tuberosa, that orange flowered milkweed has a long tap root and requires dry soil. More appropriate would be A. incarnata sp and cvs. 2. Blazing star--I guess Liatris sp. However, the most moisture tolerant is, I believe, L. spicata and even that one doesn't want too much wet. I think you need to further research plant choices. I hope that you know more about the proper construction of a rain garden than you do about plant choices. I also believe that a rain garden should be constructed no closer to a building than 10 ft. Not sure you have that.

Thank-you, both!

Bigack, yes, I frequent the Daylily forum often.
However, those aren't daylilies in the photo. They are Oriental lilies, 'Dizzy'.

Alisande, the Phlox is 'Laura', quite mildew resistant.

Those are very pretty together. I like both but am partial to the phlox. A very dear friend gave me some just before she died from cancer but when I sold my house I left them there but I still think about them and her and wish I still had them.

Thank-you, Doris and Juanita!

Doris, glad you like the Phlox. I have many different colors, mainly because I let some self-seed, and they come up unusual and unexpected surprise colors!

Juanita, those are Iris leaves to the left of the Lilies. I don't grow glads anymore - too much work digging them and storing them for the winter.
