My iris bed...

Do you have an iris addiction, Nicole? I've had to get mine under control because of Germander Speedwell, a groundcover that has invaded our county. It's smothering the iris. One of my beds is still unaffected, and the iris are starting to open. I think this is one of the most exciting times in the garden. We should start an iris photo thread.

alisande....I live in the foothills, below Pikes Peak...it's cold & the deer eat just about everything, except iris. :0) So various people "gave" me garbage bags of iris. Then between the grass taking over and the pocket gopher I almost lost them all. So I dug them all up, DH put in a windsor stone planter to level the area out and now this is the first year we've got blooms. Hurray!
