I'll keep Nita company...... Years ago I found these two little naked things under a pine tree. The 2 of them were the size of a pen. I brought them inside and learned how to raise them, feeding every 2 hours with a small syringe. I took them with me to my parents' for Thanksgiving and often walked around the house with them in my shirt pocket to keep them warm and close to me. They thrived, learned how to climb; that's Sidney on my ficus benjamina, and eating her first peanut. Seymour is her brother. When I finally released them, we took them to a forest and put a pile of nuts, broccoli, carrots under a tree and put them down. They scampered up the tree, and without a word of a lie, they both scampered down to me, ran up my arms and nuzzled my neck and then they took off. I bawled like a baby that day. It was the greatest feeling of anything I've ever done.

Gorgeous sunsets! Those red ones are kinda spooky! LOL lildaohmowga- I don't see what you see but I love to look at clouds and find things in them.My mother use to do that and I always did it with my kids.We would sit in the lounge chairs outside in the summer and look for things in the clouds,or while we were driving on trips.Kept them occupied and it was fun to see what their imaginations came up with.I still do it now when DH and I are traveling.Sometimes he can see what I see,other times he just thinks I'm nuts!LOL

A good friend of mine sent an email around saying that his beloved best friend Sal, for 14 years, had to be put to sleep due to liver complications.

He was a little Italian Greyhound. He looks so happy cavorting here!! Rest in peace, little fellow.

The official start of the 2009 Iditarod 37 sled dog race.

One of my favorite photos I took from this year's Iditarod. This is the dog team of author, inventor and four time Iditarod winner Jeff King. Jeff won his last Iditarod in 2006 at the age of 50, making him the oldest winner in Iditarod history.
