I need to live near a bigger city

Atlanta just isn't big enough... or hip enough... or something. Sheesh, though, it's not exactly the middle of nowhere here!

I am so excited to see the movie "The Kite Runner." But when I look for showtimes online, there is no theater within 100 miles of me showing it! I know sometimes the listings are not 100% accurate. Sometimes I drive up to the theatre near me and their sign doesn't exactly match what I saw online. Still, you'd think it would show up somewhere in Atlanta! Nope. I will drive by the theater and see if it's showing, just won't give up so easy.

Why would they not show it!? I checked to be sure it was a "nationwide" release this weekend, and it's supposed to be. Are there areas the movie just isn't marketed to? I haven't even seen a preview on TV for it. I don't understand that. This is a diverse area, there is even a good sized middle eastern population. All the readers I know have read the book. Why don't they think we want to see the movie? What's going on!

I also wanted to see "Love," the movie based on Beatles songs a couple months ago. That never came to Atlanta, either.

steph it isn't playing here and in the blurb said it has limited engagement...which in movie speak means la and nyc to qualify for oscars...

although after reading the jist of the movie and knowing the genre of our population, i'm kind of surprised...it might be considered a low budget "art" film, since it doean't have "hollywood name" stars...still, i bet at smaller theaters who carry films like this, will be showing after the first of the year...at least it got a B from critics...

Maybe the distributor is asking too much money to show it. Just last week I read on-line in the Milwaukee, WI paper that the theaters there weren't going to show some popular movie that was being released because of the price the distributor was asking.

I moved back here in the Philippines after living in Baltimore Maryland almost all my life. Recently got hooked on bonsa when my fiance got into gardening. Now i cant stop, im trying to absorb all the info i can, im currently training 2 buchidas and a large ficus. The lady at the nursery called it a silver ficus, ive had people tell me its a ficus benjamina, all i know is it had a great trunk beautiful arial shoots and great branching. Bonsai does not seem to have really hit quite yet here in cebu, i cant find any decent bonsai pots, no bonsai soil and all the great trees i find are usually in the back neglected corner of the nursery. My ficus was so root bound the roots had snapped the bucket it was planted in and the roots hung 2feet down. The advantage of this of course is i was able to haggle down to $3-$4 if converted from peso. If anyone knows of a bonsai supplies store near cebu city or even random ways for me to get supplies i need i would truely appreciate it. Also if their are any clubs in this area id be very interested.

Is there room for your TV beside the door? I am thinking that is your front door...right? I personally do not like catty cornered furniture but.....If your TV will fit there, your sofa could be on the 12 foot wall with enough room for tables and lamps. Your chair could be where the couch is now If you put a small chest and lamp beside the chair, I think you could put your kitchen table behind it. I think you are going to just have to ignore the curved carpet/floor when you put your furniture down. With a recliner couch (I assume that is what you showed) you will not be able to have a coffee table so maybe the one you have could be put in front of the windows. Keep your space as open as you can so that it doesn't look cluttered. You will find a way to ignore the curve.

Just LOVE that first picture celery girl posted! And, yes if you're going with bright colors, then a sisal rug would be perfect either natural or a color..this one is Pier one,.. I agree that it depends on how brave you are. Many who post here seem so timid--it's refreshing when we find one who's not... I agree that since it's a bigger place, then group your small stuff (if you decide you want to use all of it). Def. all your plants need to go over by the door/window for impact (except the trailing one that's inching its's way down the wall...I just love that!

I only found it playing at one theater in Los Angeles, plus one each in nearby Hollywood and Culver City. That's not much for a new release here in my area.

When I searched I couldn't find a listing anywhere in Georgia. I wonder if you'll have to wait and rent the movie to watch at home.
