Glenda_al, I need a pie recipe you have....

Hi Glenda,

I don't post here alot. But, I do peek in sometime, especially around the holidays for the recipes. Several years back you posted a chocolate pie recipe. I cannot remember the name you gave it, but it was really easy, chocolatey, and delicious. Because of my busy schedule I took your pie to Christmas functions. I now find that I am having several people requesting that pie for our Christmas luncheon at work,(BOSS) and also family at Christmas dinner(outlaws), but I have misplaced it!! Do you remember which one I am talking about? I just remember it was easy and good!!!!

Here's the Fudge Pie that so many people made, hope this one is it.

Fudge Pie
1 stick butter melted
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cocoa
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp vanilla.
Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, eggs, vanilla until blended, stir in melted butter,
Pour into regular thawed pie crust.
Bake at 325 for 35-45 minutes. Mine bakes in 35 minutes.

Here's another that I posted, but not sure if anyone made.

Hershey Bar Pie
6 regular Hershey bars, with or without nuts
20 large marshmellows
1/2 cup milk
1 graham cracker crust
cool whip

Melt bars, marshmellows and milk in microwave on low - stir often until completely melted.
Pour in pie crust
Refrigerate until completely set

Top with cool whip

Anyone else, that made it, have different timing to mine?

I just saw at AllRecipes, the same one, that I have, and it says 25-30 minutes.

I haven't made this in a few years. But I remember NO more than 35 when I baked it.

I've never used honey in this kind of recipe but I think only using 1/4 cup honey would make you pucker up.

My hunch, if it was central VA and a BBQ place, was that it wasn't a pate sucree or something similar. It was probably an "American" pie crust. You can make a great flaky crust in about four minutes with butter, flour, and a little ice cold water. Can add a pinch of salt if you want. Leave some pretty large chunks of butter and make sure you do the fraisage. Like always, let it sit for an hour or so or even a day before rolling it out. Most likely based on cost and region, they probably used shortening, but don't. It tastes bad and makes your crust have a bad mouthfeel. Just use butter. Bake it well, maybe weighing it down, and make sure you bake it very close to the time you are going to use it. In other words, don't bake it today for use tomorrow or the next day. It's never as crisp as it is the first day. Let it cool, fill and serve immediately. The water from the filling will start to soften it right away, so you don't want to let that sit if you want to maintain the crispiness. This post was edited by rosesinny on Mon, Feb 18, 13 at 17:57

1 9 inch unbaked pie shell 3 1/2 C fresh blueberries 1 C sugar 1 Tbs lemon juice 2 Tbs cornstarch 1 Tbs butter Dash nutmeg, dash cinnamon In a mixing bowl combine berries, sugar, lemon juice and cornstarch. Toss berries lightly to coat and let stand 20 minutes. Pour pie into pie shell.Dot with butter and dash with cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake in 425 oven 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 and bake 30 minutes longer.

Brownie Brittle My method is perfect for brownie brittle. And yes it's hard like peanut brittle. You just break it into pieces by hand. Buy a pkg of chocolate brownie mix, 10 oz size. I buy Marie Callender's, from Dollar Tree, but Betty Crocker has one at Wall Mart. Both are the fudge brownie mixes and both work. Just follow the recipe below for the brittle Add to the mix, 1 egg, 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup oil. Spray a cookie sheet, the one I use is 15 x 10.***I NOW use parchment paper which I spray the corners on the bottom to keep it from sliding. Spread the batter thinly all over the cookie sheet and evenly. I use a spatula. Then with fingers, take chocolate morsels and sprinkle about 1/2 cup or more over the batter. Bake 325 for 30 minutes. Turn oven off and let sit inside oven for 30 more minutes. Brownies will be hard. Let them cool completely, and make sure the chocolate morsels are cooled and hard. Lift up at one end with a fork, and break into pieces. Store in an airtight container. Eat and enjoy

Glenda, I remember the first time I baked this fudge pie, I left it in 40 min. or something like that, might have been 45 min., but it is better when you take it out at 35 min. even if it looks like it is not set. It will "set" when it cools. The first one that I left in longer than 35 min. was dry, but my husband loved the taste of it and ate 1/2 the pie with a big glass of milk. That is why I gave this recipe a second chance!

when you say one stick of butter, how much is that?? I buy margarine in the 1/4 squares. Would I use one of those for the fudge cake, or does it have to be butter?
