We've had a lot of robins here. I think they are probably just passing through heading further south. I sure don't blame them.

It is supposed to be arctic conditions here by the end of the week. Robins - pha!

It's up and down weather here, but more up than down.

Yep, a robin flew right in front of me this morning. Only ONE. I thought it strange as they have migrated by now.

Will have my bedroom ac on tonight and for several more nights this week.

I see robins every day here in Huntsville....they live here year round and will in Birmingham, too.They don't mind cold temperatures and I'm glad. I'm always happy to see those busy birds hopping all over the yard.

In the winter, they feed on berries, fruits, and any grub or wormy thing they can find. There are lots of hollies and other fruit bearing plants around here in the neighborhood and I always keep a clean bird bath in the back yard.

Robins have very simple needs....water, appropriate foods (they are not seed eaters), and protected roosting spots. They'll go someplace else else if those three things aren't present.

Come spring or any stretch of warmer temperatures, earthworms will come to the surface again and robins will show up like crazy.

Robins aren't here year round, that's why it was so unusual to see one today.

Always know spring is right around the corner when you see multitudes around Feb or March, when they are migrating back to my area.

I saw one yesterday. I am in north Missouri.

We got over 6 inches today. Came down all day. Lows tonight is 2.
I have to go to work now, but DH is driving me cause I don't handle slick roads well. Luckily it is only 1 mile to work.

I really wish I could stay home tonight in front of a cozy fire... but maybe tomorrow when I get up. LOL

There are fewer numbers in the winter around here, but I promise that they are all over the place. A bunch of them do migrate and we sure notice when they come flocking back in the spring.

Another reason that you aren't noticing is that our permanent robin residents don't flock during the winter. That behavior is an early spring habit. After that, they go 'territorial' on each other as they stake their claim for best nesting sites.

Any robins you happen to see in the upcoming warm and rainy days we have in store for us (crazy weather) will be Birminghamians.

They are here (Tupelo) all year too, but have been here in droves for a couple of weeks. Guess the big groups are the migrators. They sure are fun for the cat and me to watch from the window.

It is mighty cold here in Kansas!!...I wish it was time for robins~~

we got a bit cold, for Orlando LOL upper 60's last week, we were in Atlanta w snow & ice haha but this week is 83 every day! whoohoo i LOVE this weather! ~ liz

Like rhizo, I see robins every day. And not when I am lookin' in the mirror ;) There was one that would follow me around the yard when I was weeding and watering the garden. Then, the garden got a lot more carefree and he'd come out just because I was there. I see those every day along with sparrows, Carolina chickadees, cardinals, blue jays, and mockingbirds. I can tell its winter when I see a titmouse if that counts.

added this: here is a link to all our birds, and have seen just about all of them. Not all of the water birds. I have seen a great blue heron and the other big white one, but not kingfisher types.

I too see robins all year long here in Indiana, though fewer in the winter.

I was driving home the back way from my chiro appointment yesterday. A little flurry in some shrubs caught my eye...and bright flashes of blue. Several eastern bluebirds were feasting on some berries of some kind in the landscaping.

What a pretty sight.
