BRRR! It is so cold here! (2 pics)

It is in the mid 20s and we have a steady north wind of 30 mph or more - gusting much higher. We're in a winter storm warming, although the worst should be over in a few hours. DH went to the mall earlier (yes, he's NUTS!), and he said it is like driving in a blizzard.

These were taken a few hours ago.

Love your deer! We've had a few in our neighborhood & I think they're visiting me! Apples & corn are gone in the AM!

Oh, and my folks have been without power for the last few hours, along with hundreds of other people in this area. The winds are wreaking havoc with the power lines! My sis fired up their generator for coffee and TVs, plus they have propane for heat, so they'll be OK. Sure is miserable, though, even from inside the house! Some places north and west of us this morning already had 1-2' snow drifts from just a few inches of snow - that's how hard it was blowing!

Oh, you girls are making me hungry. I went to the grocery store tonight so we had rotiserie chicken from there. Good excuse to save the container for winter sowing, lol. Tomorrow I will make beef stroganoff with wine and mushroom sauce to make up the last couple of nights, lol. I can cook really good but its not as much fun to cook for just the 2 of us and I have gained a lot of weight from my hubby trying to make me eat all the time. His favorite is rice. If he doesn't have it at least once a day he thinks the world is ending. On weekends he eats it breakfast lunch and dinner. I actually miss potatoes, lol. I bought me a couple to bake for myself and load them with butter sour cream, cheese and bacon bits. Look out arteries, lol. Can you overnight me some of those sticky buns, lol. Make a great midnight snack.

LOL just noticed the title... should have been (") inches, not feet! lol Oh, but Carol, I think I would find it boring to have the same weather every day. Day in day out. Beth, I grew up in Edmonds! How long has he lived there? So many broken trees. the sound was amazing though. The bad part is over. It's been about 35 degrees all day and raining. The wet cold, well it's bone chilling when you are out in it, but at least no more sleet!

So quick update. Both my laptops got a virus. Have been off line for over 24 hours. We did not make a decision. Looked at everything. Keep coming back to blacks and whites. We love the rich look of black with the cabinets. The whites make it pop. So Bianco romanco is out. All sent back to supplier, bad quality. Bianco Antico aka white diamond still in the running. Has white, black, orange/red dots, all other stuff I can't describe. Orange would go with the floor? Usual BA. I don't think I mentioned we have all black appliances. Labrador and cambrian black looked good. We love black. Then we saw super white quartzite. Looks great with cabs. Very expensive. What to do? oh, and while in the showroom and yard, not once did the drawer front show its purpleness. I tried to show how it has this undertone but it would not appear. Tried different lights, in, out, bright sun, shade, next to just about every granite. It just looked brown today. No one else could see the purpleness I swore was there.

I love your pics! The deer seem to be well fed!
I was expecting cooler weather today. Yesterday our temps were close to 80Âº. Today it is windy, but very sunny and nice.

I hope your parents get their power back soon!

Poor cold deer Rita. You need to get out there and start them a bond fire. :) Sure looks chilly over your way. We're due 15 for a low tonight. We had the cold, blowing snow this morning, but it cleared off nicely. Our company is waiting another day to head this way from Dallas though. The 80 car pile up on 287 stopped them in their tracks!

Keeping our fingers crossed that your folks get their power back on.

MaryAnn, they have come to depend on DHs endless supply of corn. LOL!

I heard about that bad wreck on the news, Summer! YIKES!

My folks have their power back, and the winds have finally laid down. I even got to see a pink sky as the sun was setting. But dang - it is cold!

Those sure are beautiful pics! Sometimes I yearn to live some place where it isn't 67 degrees on the first day of winter. :)

If I could see one good snowfall a year, I'd be happy.
