How many of you have candy in the house and what kind do you have?

I must have chocolate available at all times-Christmas M&Ms and Christmas Hershey Kisses.

None, rarely have it, because I cannot leave it alone.

Ditto was Sue36 says. You might get some slack if you want to build a 5000 sq ft 3 bedroom house with 6 bonus rooms. I doubt there is a MA specific rule on number of rooms but just look at it from a possible bedroom standpoint. Any bonus room (what we call them here) can be potentially a bedroom. You might get away with 1 on a 4 bedroom house but after that, you may have an issue. A closet defines a bedroom for listings etc. but a room with no other purpose is a potential bedroom for the purpose of a septic system. They "round" up on bedroom count for septic systems. Around here, these rules would be local and not state based.

We installed a functional, commercial lean-to greenhouse with plexiglass panels against one ell of our house. Put in a gas fireplace and it is heated in winter and used year round. It is 12 x24 and multifunctional now. We keep it heated in winter, at one time it was used as an office for my business, and forced into use as a place to overwinter nursery stock for propagating. Since my business has been phasing down and is now phased out we simply use it now as a great buffer zone against the elements. My back door and two other household doors remain open to it year round. I have a fountain in there and hang ferns in winter. It has brick floors and is a great transition room from our outdoor activities to inside activities.......home for coat racks, boots and animals who shoot out our back door without leashes, lol. Gets a good amount of solar gain and helps our heat bills too. We have a ventilator fan at its apex to pull out heat, have a shade cloth we can use in summer, and a storm door for the outside entrance, so we can screen in summer. I can't imagine not having it now and it's a lot handier than the creaky old back porch we pulled off. It's like having both functional outdoor and indoor space added.

i lost my senior great dane girl 5 weeks ago to bone cancer. it was sudden and shocking and i still look for her. my remaining dane girl and eden were joined at the hip, pip took the loss very hard and had been grieving so much, it broke my heart. i contacted pip's breeder and one of her former co-owners and asked that they keep an eye out for any adults that any breeder friends might be considering a new home for (retired show dogs, etc.). the co-owner gave me the contact information for one of her people who had a dane boy she had been looking for just the right home for and the rest is history. meet "flighty foto my way", call name "frank". frank will be 4 years old on 5/31. he is a very sweet boy and he and pippin hit it off immediately at our meet 'n' greet friday. they do zoomies numerous times a day, sleep curled up together and are just a perfect pair. pippin is so much happier and that makes me happier. even though i miss eden terribly, i am beginning to heal now that pip is feeling better. frank is a bit on the thin side because he lived the last 4 weeks with a female dane who was going through a heat cycle and when that's going on, intact males ignore food, do a lot of pacing and fretting and routinely lose weight. he's eating like a horse so i'm confident he will gain and be back to his normal weight soon. i'm giving him a few weeks to settle in and then i'll make an appointment to have him neutered.

The house we'll build next year will be our last house. I did look to buy instead of build but we really just want what we want--and don't want to compromise as much as we'd have to if we buy and remodel. Completely agree ... we also looked for something existing that we might update a bit, but found that the non-negotiable items on our list just couldn't be found in an existing home. So glad we built. We've been in the house for almost 3 months now and we're really happy with how it turned out and how it works for us. There are always some bumps in the road, but knowing our budget and what our priorities were (plus a really good contractor) helped to make this build a fairly smooth process. Hope things go well for you. It seems the consensus here is previous experience does make a big difference.

Oh, my - YES! What kind do you want? I have three kinds of homemade fudge, peppermints, choc. covered cherries, candy of all kinds, left over from Halloween, some Carob squares - geeze, what DON'T I have!

Sign my name to socks post. For a long time, I'd get candy bars and freeze them. I didn't touch them except for 2 nights a week......I chose Tues and Fri. That went on for quite a while. Then I started eating them more often, so went back to 'none in the house'.

I have some of those mini caramel bars... and the ONLY reason I have them is because DS hasn't been here in a few days! He's a skinny kid, ...but candy isn't safe around him.

Sure do! Dark chocolate covered cherries, peanut butter fudge and my mom's recipe for homemade caramels.
The fudge and caramels will mainly go to neighbors after I finish my baking.

I have more that I should, but cannot eat much chocolates now, so enjoy jelly beans, spice drops etc. DH does eat a bit every day, but can control it. I will have a box of candy for weeks, and just eat one ever so often.

Always have Dove Dark with Almonds in the house. Now also have a batch of home made peanut butter meltaways in the fridge waiting for Christmas giveaway and some white chocolate mints that I made, also for giveaway. It is a mistake to make the pb meltaways so early, but needed some to take to the cardiac rehab Christmas party last Tuesday. Can't leave them alone.

Always! DH and I have a piece almost every day, either after lunch, at teatime or in the evening. I always have Ghirardelli squares on hand. Sometimes we receive a gift of Vosges chocolates or have something from another closer shop where they also make their own chocolate.

I like reasonably good dark chocolate. No 'white chocolate' or milk chocolate or Hershey's, etc. that are heavy on the sugar and light on the real chocolate.

I have a batch of Paula's fudge in my walk-in cooler, also known as my porch. I also have a large bag of candy corn left over from Halloween, and I found a bag of M & Ms in my Christmas trimmings! So, yes, I have candy in the house.

I almost always have candy in the house, but don't eat much. Right now, I have some mini Christmas reeses peanut butter cups, and some strawberry filled hard candy.

I once got a box of Frango's for Christmas, and ate the last one in May. I DO love my chocolate, but I like to savor it, and have one once in awhile to better appreciate it.

I should do a tutorial video on just how to open and taste from a box of chocolates.
It would start with just enjoying the scent of the chocolate through the wrapping, unwrapping the cellophane and noticing the increased aroma, to actually opening the box and drinking in the sight while inhaling. Choosing carefully which to try first, placing it in your mouth and breathing the flavor in...yes, it's a process to be throughly enjoyed. I DO love my chocolate

Right now I have Good n Plenty and Lifesavers. I love chocolate,but it doesn't love me. I hate to admit how much candy I eat.

Jeaninwa, I love those strawberry filled hard candies. Need to get some. Also like those chocolate filled peppermint pillows, or whatever they're called.

All you chocolate lovers, just imagine if all of a sudden you couldn't eat chocolate anymore because it will give you abdominal pains that may last for days or you may even throw up! That's me, and it still kills, even after several years of abstaining, to see or smell anything chocolate. Just reading here about your house candy made my mouth water.

Not really...only 2 bags of Hershey Kissses for the cookies.
Making the brownie/peppermint kiss and Butter/chocolate kiss cookies.

We do, I bought hubby 5# of Harry London's dark chocolates from QVC and 3# of Moose Munch from Harry & David. I am diabetic so I don't usually eat candy but at this time of year I eat a piece of it each day...that will stop on New Years!

I just ate two buckeyes and two almond covered pretzels...I feel sick...but ohhhh the yummies while eating them was devine!!

Hershey Mint Kisses and (large) marshmallows. The kisses are almost gone, but the scent lingers on.

The hard "Christmas candy" in the candy dish and some Lindt chocolate truffles to put in the kids' Christmas stockings.

I have lots flavored candy canes on 2 trees and box chochlates bought from grandsons boyscout troop.
