Must have been A Bad Morning

on Main Street in my town.

Was just coming home from visiting my aunt in the nursing home, and could see lots of flashing lights ahead--a fire engine, ambulance, at least a half dozen police cars. There was an office building on the left that has a sort of sunken patio by their lower-than-street-level front door. A car had apparently swerved off the street, across the sidewalk and was hung up, almost sideways on the little stone wall around the lower part. Looked like a terrible accident. Don't know what caused it.

As I was just almost passing it, the fire siren went off at the firehouse, and the fire engine/ambulance and about half the police cars took off flying down the road--have no idea what that was about. As I was getting past the first accident, more emergency vehicles were heading toward it. Then, about 2 blocks later, I passed the town hall, and a police officer was just stringing yellow tape around a downed traffic light and another car with flashing lights was arriving to that incident.

Hope no one was seriously hurt in any of these accidents.
