Happy New Year Everyone...

I just wanted to stop by and say Happy New Year!!!!

Things here are going well. Always bumps and twists in the roads as we go, but we are very blessed.

Some of you, I am sure many of you, will not know me. I posted here years ago. My life now is very busy and not a ton of time to post, but would like to get into some board life or sorts....

I do check in here and lurk from time to time.... In fact, I am very upset with Casey NFL.... she has me hooked on this mans blog spot in the town that she lives. He has the most wonderful recipes to add to my waist line.

My life???? Well, as you know, we had a baby which is such a miracle considering my health issues. Well, she really is not a baby any longer as she is about to turn three in a little bit over a month. She is smart, beautiful, curious, charming, sweet, lovable, creative, and did I already tell you, she is smart and beautiful? LOL...

I am still working full time at the bank. I work in a new department, but still there. They are a great company to work for, so I see myself being there for quite awhile.

Our oldest moved out and lives about 5 miles from me. She also works were I do, and is saving up to go to school. She has a boyfriend and he also works at our bank. He treats her well and that is all we can ask for. He bought her a promise ring for Christmas. I was glad it was not an engagement ring to be honest as they are still young yet.

Our son is in a hospital right now and it has been very difficult for us. He was diagnosed with a form of autism almost two years ago. He actually has about 3 or 4 disorders all bundled up into that body of his. We have known for years that there was more to him than what they had originally diagnosed him with. He has been in the hospital since Thanksgiving morning. We had to take it, although the day that he had to go in was really a hard decision for us. They are trying to regulate some meds for him. When doing so, it is such a process that he really needs to be monitored to make sure that there are no adverse side effects such as violent mood swings, or seizure type issues. They have been trying to fine tune the meds.

With that being said, we have not yet celebrated our holidays. I refused to open one card or gift until our son is home with us where he belongs. I have made him a plate of Thanksgiving food, that is in the freezer waiting for him. We have all the gifts wrapped and ready to distribute under the tree when Santa comes. It is easy enough actually since Carlie is not old enough to understand which day it would be on. We keep telling her that Christmas is almost here.

The toughest days without him (and believe me, there has not been one non teary day since he has been in the hospital), are the holidays. His birthday was on Friday. We only get to see him once a week, on Sundays for two hours while he is there. The hospital is about an hour away or so. We have a meeting with his counselor on that day for an hour and then we get visiting time for a couple of hours. It is nice to see him and always sad good byes.

On a FANTASTIC note, after fighting with our HMO for a couple of years, they are now going to out source our son to an Autism specialist in the area. This is a miracle. We only have one in our area, and we have heard such fantastic things about this doctor, we just feel so blessed with that news. An appointment is already set up for our son when he gets out. We are so hopeful they this can be some answers to help our son. He is such a good kid... nobody deserves the struggles our son has gone through. My heart breaks for him.

We are all well. Getting ready to do a lot of cultural events with my husband at the college. I always love helping out. My son also volunteers at the Humane Society. We want to start helping with some Habitat for Humanity things also.

I hope everyone is doing well. I am wanting to start posting again, I am really going to try to make the time for this in my new year.

Blessings to all
