HELP! Photobucket question

Does anyone here know how to resize photos once they are on photobucket? I went to the site, followed the directions, and it won't let me resize. I put in a different size, and it automatically reverts back to the original size.

I would really appreciate any help. I am pitiful at doing things on the computer. TIA

I just did a trial and it worked for me. I clicked on edit, then put in a new size, then clicked apply!

THEN don't forget to save it at the bottom. I have had problems "replacing original" I find I get results everytime if I click on save a COPY

If resizing isn't really a necessity, I usually just post a clickable thumbnail. It then loads faster for those on slower connections, but can be clicked on and enlarged if one cares to see it 'bigger'.

You can click on the "Collections" button on the tool bar to bring up your collections. Then right click on the collection that you don't want anymore and select DELETE. Or you can right click on each picture/sound/video in the collections in the center box area and delete them as you want. Also - when you have the Collections pane viewable on the left - you can right click on "collections" and select New Collection. Then you can rename that whatever you like. That helps me keep track of what I am working on. I use a new collection for each project. I do delete them afer a while to keep the clutter down. One thing to note - Even if you have "saved" your slideshow, you need to keep the pictures in the same space if you ever want to use that show again. If you have burnt the show to disk - it will be fine on the disk, you won't need to worry about it. But if you have just saved the show to your hard drive, and want to go back and burn that show again to something with it - if the pictures have been moved or deleted (not from the collections, but from the actual hard drive) - you will be missing those pictures from you Slide Show. Don't ever change the location of the pictures you are working with, while working on a show either. I moved some from my hard drive to my external hard drive once, without thinking how it would affect the slide show - that was a mess! It was fine when I moved them back to the original location until I was finished with my project. I think there might be some WMM tutorials on YouTube. I am on dialup - so I can't really find any to link you to right now.

Maybe you're grabbing the URL of the thumbnail, instead of the URL of the full-size image? I use Photobucket, and I have to say, I'm not sure how you're doing this, since my images always come out the size I made them. The only other thing I can imagine is that the image really IS that small, and is getting stretched out only to make it look larger on the screen. It is a difference of screen resolution (72 dpi) vs. the actual number of pixels in the raw image. If you don't know what that means, the RESOLUTION of the image might be the problem. If you want, e-mail me one of your images. (I will just hope it's less than 1 MB! I'm on dial up.) Then I can tell you exactly what is going on with your original image.

another way to get to the resize editor, on your actual album above each photo it has an edit option directly above each pic along with move, share, delete, if you click on the edit option it will then open the editor where you can resize the picture. To see the hidden bar I mentioned go to your album and just click right on any picture in there in the new page that opens with that picture in it now put your cursor at the very top edge of the picture and the toolbar should appear with the resize option. this is a screen shot of what you should see click on thumbnail for full view, then click again for full size.

I just went back to Photobucket and tried to resize and it did the same thing to me...reverted back to the original size.
Anybody have any other ideas?????

I'm beginning to HATE photobucket,with sooooooooo many changes and all those Da** pop-ups,they're about to drive me crazy!! Think i need to start looking for another Free site for my pictures.

did you try saving a copy.. not replacing the original?

When I posted my TG pictures I thought the same. It just looked like the pictures in the thread were still big, after resizeing.

But, when I went back to the post the following day, the pictures were smaller. Somehow, it has something to do with your cache or something.

When you resize an image in Photobucket that has been posted at the KT (or similar forum setting), you need to press your Reload/Refresh button for you to see the change. You should however see the change in Photobucket immediately after the resizing.

Jodi, I couldn't see the difference in PB, nor here, when I was resizing my Thanksgiving pictures. It was really weird. But, like I said above, the next day when I opened that thread again, the pictures were smaller.
