Great way to start a dreary Monday. Thanks. The "paper" one is new to me - very clever. It reminds me of the commercial on TV where the daughter watches her father use his iPad or tablet as a cutting board and then places it in the dishwasher. I'd forgotten about the curtain rod revenge story until this weekend when revenge was the topic on a talk radio station. A listener called in and said it happened to a neighbor which made me curious so I checked Snopes. So often we find out that these are merely urban legends but this one had a interesting backstory - including a literary one via John Steinbeck. Reminds me of the time a man wanted to clear a lot in my town and build a house, but his neighbors complained he was going to wreck their view. He was denied the right to build what he wanted, but he got his revenge by cutting down most of the trees on the lot and painting the trunks in screaming psychedelic colors. That sparked a whole other round of neighborhood complaints, but the colors remained until they slowly faded.
