Pain in the butt is right! I keep tweezers ready and when I see them, I pull them. For the peach fuzz, I use bikini wax to remove them.

I either have my hair stylist wax them when she does my eyebrows & mustache or I pluck them. I only have a few, now my mustache is a different story..I get a lot of "wild hairs" growing there...

I only have a few anymore. I chose to sit through electrolysis treatments for quite a while now. Have one scheduled for the 11th.

I hope to sometime quit making more. LOL

But, in the beginning I plugged them out. Later, I just shaved them... and still do the shaving between treatments.

No, they don't come back darker because of your selection of how to get rid of them. They just do... and for me, I am lucky, most stay blond, but they are stiff.

No chin hairs here, but I do grow a few wild mustache bristles. I keep my tweezers handy.

If I start sprouting more than my occasional few, I will investigate laser hair removal or electrolysis. I have a friend who had her chin hairs zapped that way.

Tweezers! I sit in the sun and pluck them, I have a lot. It doesn't hurt at all.

I shave them with a cheap disposable single-blade razor two or three times a week. Once in a while one especially thick hair needs plucking. (Old wives' tale about shaving making hair grow faster or thicker. Otherwise adolescent boys would be shaving hourly!)

A couple of years ago another poster asked this same question and the Bellabe was mentioned, as chemocurl mentioned today. I was intrigued, but didn't like the price. I saw a knockoff at amazon for 69 cents, plus shipping and bought a couple. Since then, I have bought a few more. Never having used the Bellabe, I can't say that it is better or worse, but my 69 cent tool does the job very well. As you age, not only do you grow hair on your chin, but your eyesight gets worse too, LOL, and as a result, I don't always spot those hairs before leaving the house, but might feel them when I touch my face while I'm out. I keep one in my car, too. If you are next to me at a stoplight you might see me snagging the errant hair. I love that springy thing!

Chemocurl: On a scale of 1-10, how painful is that -- esp on the upper-lip area? I pluck any dark hairs (my hormones have always been out of whack), and I'm used to that level of pain (which to me is about a 1).

After experimenting with a couple ways to control wayward hairs (although not that springy thingy), I've found that the Sally Hansen wax strips work best for me. You rub them between your hands to warm the wax, peel them apart, cover the offending hairy area and rip it off. Hurts a little, but you can take it in the name of beauty. It always leaves behind a few hairs but they are stiff with wax and easy to pluck.

I've also used Olay hair remover. It's stinky and inevitably leaves behind the stubborn ones. Since it dissolves hair at skin level, you soon have regrowth. The wax strips yanks it out at the root and it takes longer to grow back. I also use a magnifying mirror in front of a sunny window to spot errant hairs and pluck them out. I keep tweezers in my purse for emergencies.

I recently went to a computer training session where I was sitting just to the side of the instructor. I swear she had about a three inch hair growing from her chin. It was all I could do not to whip out my tweezers and give that ugly thing a yank.

I am allergic to bees and beeswax, so I go for electrolysis when needed, about every two months. Takes just 15 minutes, so she only charges me $20. Worth it, compared to using a magnifying glass and tweezers.

I pluck them. I have very thick, coarse, wavy hair - so of course the hairs are often ingrown as well. I have a magnifying mirror - unfortunately it is big so plan to replace the smaller one that I had that I used to focus on the area in question - it finally broke. The hair often feels like copper wire - and the worst ones are the white hairs. I remember the horror the first time I saw the hair growing beneath my chin - I was a passenger in the car and had the visor down and there was a mirror. Yikes. I actually went and bought a pair of tweezers because I couldn't wait until the end of the day. The sun sure shows the hair though. I pretty much check every day. Happens to just about every one. Some hairs I can feel - others I can't feel but when I look in the magnifying mirror it is not pretty. I did try hair remover once but it burned my very thin skin - so tweezers it will always be.

I bought a Panasonic ear/nose hair trimmer about 10 - 12 years ago. Google Panasonic ER415. Love that thing for mustache, chin hairs and the bridge of my nose, between eyebrows. Girlfriends kept borrowing it, so they both got one for Christmas last year.

I made the mistake of buying a small magnifying mirror a couple of months ago~~BLAH!!! I thought I had nice skin till I really saw it up close and the hairs YIKES!! I am staring into that hing every day. Wish I never bought it!!

Tomorrow I have having my first facial and am going to get a upper lip waxing, maybe chin. Not sure if I will like this tho. I think I will eventually go the electrolysis route, maybe this gal tomorrow does that also;)

I buy the lighted tweezers at Dollar Tree. The tweezers aren't worth a toot, but I've use the light and magnifier many a time. You don't get the brush with the ones from DT.

LOL, Ded. I went to electrolysis for several years, but when I retired I stopped that (trip was too far). Now it is tweezers.

I use a spring like some of the others. Its a REM spring from amazon. Reviews are very good too! 4 stars out of 856 reviews, You can find a you tube on how to use it. I think it is much much better than tweezers, I too, am losing my close up vision as I age. You don't need it with this! I keep mine by the computer and use it there. I bought one after people were raving about it on another board similar to this one.

Those things look so painful! Not sure I could stand it.

I only have one hair on my chin. Then I feel it with my finger, I get out the tweezers and pull it out.

I shave every night in the shower. Many, many years ago we had Japanese exchange students with us for a few months. They shave every day because it's not clean, in their culture, to have body hair. They use a tool that is very sharp and shave their face and arms each day.

thanks for all your suggestions. i wound up buying a small ladies electric razor. it works great and i feel so much better knowing that i got them all. i used to work with a lady who had 6 or 7 reeeeeeeally long hairs on her chin and they bothered people looking at them more than they bothered her. lol
