Funny Lil' Ol' Lady

Stopping at a garage sale today near time for them to close and soon saw he'd priced his stuff like it was from high end retail stores.

I wandered over to some dolls the guy had lined up on a table when I noticed an adorable lil' old lady approaching. I could tell she was sharp, not that she moved very fast but perky & those eyes were taking in everything in short order.

She walked over near me & asked the owner about the dolls. He went into detail about what wonderful buys they were, "Antiques, you know.- very old and valuable." (I'd already picked one up & knew they were not worth much.)

She studied him a minute, looked back at the dolls, and looked at me (really, I tried not to grin.) Then she asked him how much he was "a-wantin' for 'em." He said, "They start at $50. and go to $125. Why if you look at prices on e-Bay, you'll see they're selling for over $100. for the plainest ones."

She looked at her watch & asked him what time he was closing up. After he told her, she looked at me with a twinkle in her eye, turned back to him with this quip, "Well, if I was you, I'd be puttin' them on that there e-Bay place for you sure ain't a-gonna be getting that for 'em ' 'round here young man!"

Best laugh I had all week.
