Awesome Christmas light display!

Mom and I went and saw a house in a town near us tonight that was so neat! They had their house completely lit up and it was all flashing! And hanging from their mailbox, they had a sign to tune into a certain radio station number. So then when you tune into the radio station, it is playing Christmas songs and you will see that the lights are flashing to go along with the music! It is amazing! Mom and I parked at a barn across the street and sat and watched for probably close to a half hour. I recorded a bit of it on video and uploaded it to my website. Check it out! ItÂs not the best quality video, and there is a little bit of static, but itÂs still neat to see! When you get to my website, the top post has the link. Click the link, and it will take you to another page where you click on the link again and then the video will pop up for you. You can make the video bigger also.

Make sure you turn on your sound!

Hm....not sure why it didn't work for you! Mayabe you need Quicktime or something to view it? Sorry you dind't get to see it, though!

mareda: "...I'm so old (52) that I recall when mini-lights were called Italian lights, and in addition to big bulbs, we had long tubes that would bubble. Yikes!" I'm old enough to remember they were called Italian lights, too! I actually prefer the larger bulbs because it's what I grew up with, but my husband and I have never had them on our tree! I'm also wondering if any of the 'geezers' like me (47) here also remember the different colored metal reflectors used with the big bulbs that were in shapes like stars, etc. My mother loved them and insisted on using them on her tree through her last Christmas still in her home (2005)--definitely gave her tree a very 1950's flavor!

You are soo right pamghatten!! Two daughters home from college made a "snap chat" story --posting a pic of 'ALL' the nativities they found in our home. They got to 50. They missed two that we know of. LOL!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I have always coveted the sets that have many many different shepherds, animals, etc. The Fontanini line is great for that!! Maybe if I had such a "complete" set one would be enough!!

I got it with Firefox and also with IE.

That is an original and awesome thing to do. Somebody is very "techy" to figure that out.

I couldn't enlarge it though. Just a small black background with a flash of red light here and there.

Shoot! Wish you could enlarge it...it works for me, even when I access it away from my computer.

Can you imagine the time...and money!..involved in setting that up? It really is beautiful, I wish I could've been able to get a better video of it. It reminded me of being at Disney World last year for Christmas!

There are software programs that you can buy that will set the whole thing up for you. I have no idea how much the software costs... saw a program on tv a couple of Christmas seasons ago that told all about it, and showed various folks who had used it for their light displays.

It's "illegal" in certain areas, though. Some areas require you to have a license to transmit anything over radio waves...

Speaking of it being illegal, we went back there again last night to take my little 4 year old nephew to see it. We sit in an empty lot across the street to watch it, but everyone else was just pulling up in front of the house, on both sides of the street, and pulling off to the side and watching. At one point there was about 6 or 7 cars in the street watching, and a cop car came and turned it's lights on and sat there in the middle of the road until everyone left.
