Attention if you take generic lipitor

If you take generic lipitor by brand ranbaxy you need to contact your pharmacy asap.
They are being recalled for having ground up fine glass in the pills.

I just heard it on the news, looked at mine and mine are that brand.
I called the pharmacy and was told do not take another one, bring them in and they will exchange for another brand.

Now I only have 10 left so apparently I have possibly taken some of the tainted ones.

She had me check the date and said oh yes you are one that is affected.

I did ask why no one had notified me. She said that they have pulled it off the shelf but were not calling, but were replacing it for those that brought it in.

Thanks for the info, raven.....that's mine, too. Just how much ground up glass do we need in our diets???

I got a call from the pharmacy last week, after I had my prescription refilled. Took it in and got another refill from a different batch. Told me I'm fine.

Hi Jonnie - That's almost a contradiction in terms - "attention several times a week but not too demanding". Most of us are always looking for plants that do NOT require attention several times a week. ;) Are you thinking about using flowers or vegetables? Small container type tomato or eggplant plant comes to mind. I also think of tropical flowering plants as requiring more than average care - Jasmin, orchids, plumaria, etc. Gardenias are notorious for being difficult to care for unless one is very knowledgeable about them. Gold Medal. Stick it in the ground, water and forget. Magnificent yellow flowers with pink edges and underpetals. Tamora, an Austin rose. Does not shrivel or blacken in heat (of which we have a lot in SoCal). I planted 3 of them and they are developing into lovely shrubs. Pink Peace, Takes infinite levels of neglect, but blooms true and fragrant every year. Everything else I have is too new to evaluate. One I would never buy again, though, is Double Delight. I moved it out of pitiless sun to a place where it gets afternoon shade, and the plant grew a little better -- still, however, few blooms and those are small and disappointing, especially when compared to the huge flowers it produced at first. Plant seems to have all sorts of problems, bugs love it, mildew, etc., which my other HTs don't. Doubly disappointed so far. Sylvia

If the goal is to have the left and middle ones centered on the front door AND have the middle and the right one centered on the window, there is only one way to achieve it. Moving the leftmost one to the left by 7". I assume that the columns are 18" wide. Otherwise the plan doesn't make sense. Then if you are standing in front of the door, the door will be centered in between columns. And if you're standing in front of the window, the window will be centered in between columns. But you have wider space on the left, than on the right. Start drawing with that in mind. You'd know what I mean. If the goal is to evenly space three columns , then the best you could do is moving the center one to the left by 5". What Renovator8 said. I'd personally like this scenario better. Currently, you're achieving neither. I'd complain about the designer's incompetence and persuade the builder. It may not be noticeable but whether it will bother you depends on you. The house I bought a couple years ago (and have yet to move into) was painted top to bottom, recarpeted in the bedrooms and completely and heavily staged for sale. The house was first renovated for sale in 2007 and I guess because the market dropped they kept it off the market. But the house was not really lived in for three plus years. In 2007 new cheap replacement windows and a new cheap kitchen and bath went in. When I bought the house in 2011, there were still packing materials in the DW and oven. Prior to the 2011 placement on the market the entire house was painted a dark khaki with a orangy brown undertone, and the trim painted a dark khaki with a slightly pinkish undertone. (?) And carpeted in decent quality dark khaki carpet. Then it was heavily staged with dark transitional microfiber and espresso-stained furniture. I don't know if it wouldn't have been better to paint the entire inside off-white and call it done. It was neutralized, it was furnished inoffensively, but it was all rather depressing anyway. It did cover a lot of previous sins, I guess. The owner was "artistic" and one room had been Yield sign Yellow, with Stop sign Red trim. Another pale green faux finish with french blue trim. Hideous. But the staging, although neutral, didn't really showcase the house. And, when it came time to rent it, the tenants asked that I change the depressing brown color and depressing brown carpet. The carpet stayed, it literally still smelled like new carpet, but I did paint their bedrooms since they supplied the paint. I actually thought the house looked better empty, and cleaner than it had been, once I covered some of the khaki. I know staging is considered important in some regards but I am not sure it affected my decision to buy the house, and the tenants didn't like it either. (although their furniture looks an awful lot like the staging furniture, generic transitional).

Got my 1st prescription today and called Express Scripts to tell them I would NOT take these pills. They declined my request and told me to take them because they "may" not be affected!! This is crazy!! I will NOT take a chance on this!!!!! Express Scripts will not credit my account!! What do I do now?? Anybody???

Pianolady 2008 - you could file a dispute with your credit card. I've done that before. It take a while but it does work.

I would call the manufacturer it's illegal to sell a know recalled medication.

Mine has the manufacturer name on my prescription label, but in very small print.

I think that company that is refusing you is on the verge of committing fraud. They are reimbursed for those drugs and they are supposed to use that to replace the bad drugs they gave out.
I would not let it go there's a legal recall.

Thanks for the information. My doctor just yesterday, changed my prescrition to Lipitor, 40 mg tab, becasue he said it was aa better drug than the one I had been taking.

Your current prescription may or may not be affected. Here's what I have found to date:

1. The problem is glass particles in the tablet. The glass particles are comparable in size to sand.

2. The pills affected were made by Ranbaxy, an India company. They supply about 43% of generic Lipitor sold. 41 lots have been recalled.

Your supply is not affected if it was made by a different supplier.

3. The affected dosages are Atorvastatin Calcuim Tablets 10 mg, 20 mg, and 40 mg. The 80 mg tablets are not recalled. The recalled lots have expiration date 31-Aug-14. Liptor in tablet form is said to have a good shelf life.

Mine is one in the recall. I tried calling the mail order supplier; after being put on hold for more than 30 minutes, I sent them an e-mail. If I don't hear from them tomorrow, I will try to call again.

Thanks for the heads-up!!!! I can always count on my friends at the KT to keep me up to date on the happenings in the world.
