Do cats have bad dreams???

My 16 year old cat will sometimes wake up and meow 3 or 4 times. I will go and talk to him and pet him and he will either get up and go about his business or curl up and go back to sleep. This usually happen in the day time or evening not after I have gone to bed.

No doubt in my mind. The one I have came from, well, not the best home and she was traumatized. She'd wake up screaming and meow like crazy and I'd call her and she'd come to me. Just last night she woke up meowing and got up, meowed like she was calling and I called her, said everything's OK and she sat down for a minute then as usual came and hopped into my lap. And whether it's related or not, IDK but she spends a lot more time in my lap snoozing lately.

My other cat would be sound asleep and start twitching and paws going like crazy. I recorded some of it one time. I don't think his were really nightmares but it was kind of funny. Thought about posting it on Youtube or something.

I'm sure they have bad dreams and good dreams.

They definitely dream--as cynic says, mine will sometimes be very active when asleep. She's obviously doing (chasing?) something, but who knows what? I'm sure, that on occasion, they can have bad dreams just as we do.

I suggest you dig it up, cut it back,soak it for 30 minutes in a solution of 9 parts water to 1 part Clorox, and then replant it elsewhere. I'm afraid in zone 8 rust may be inevitable. The first plant I had that showed signs of rust was purchased from a well-known vendor in a area where there is no rust! I'm sure something else in my garden had it, but it wasn't visible enough to notice. Rust has been especially bad this fall in some areas of our property. So far, as I am weeding/grooming in our field bed, the only tetraploid that I've inspected up close has been Kent's Favorite Two ... and it was surrounded by rusty plants. Of course, the year-old diploid seedlings planted there are almost all without rust. Those few that do have it are not much affected by it. I even have rust on those that are listed as rust-free! I do have one long raised bed full of red dayliles, both tets and dips, that hasn't shown any sign of rust ever, plus about 14 diploids that are planted along the road 8' apart that have never had any rust, either. Metoprolol and bad dreams

Ok, I'm going to make some guesses here and forgive me if I'm wrong. My guess is that you benefit more from a beta blocker vs a calcium channel blocker for some kind of cardiac rhythm problem. Metoprolol comes in a time release tablet that may be helpful to you. The lowest dose, I think, is 25 mg daily. You might want to see if you can go down to 25 mg as an extended release Rx. Aside: Paxil, now there's a drug that can cause vivid dreams! Often, one will be hard pressed to know if something (something normal, not something like your organic oranges started chatting with you) really happened or if you dreamed it. *IF* the atenolol and the metoprolol is for an arrhythmia like PVCs or a-fib, you might want to explore with your physician or cardiologist, at your next appointment, about using a "pill-in-pocket" option, which would be taken only when your heart beat is out of normal sinus rhythm. It's been a year since we moved into our house, and I do believe that there was bad energy in it at the beginning. After I posted here, I read more and decided to do some things to turn the energy around and it seems it worked! I think a big part of it was just working on my inner energy and bringing this up with my partner. He's not the type of person who would believe in bad energy and haunted places, but he agreed that something was off here and that we should try to do something about it. It can't hurt, right? I cleaned the whole house very thoroughly, and while I was doing it, I was repeating my intentions and good thoughts about the house and the life we want to build here. I also repainted some walls and added a few details that bring good memories. Then I bought sage and went through all rooms and corners to clear the air. It also helped when I added a few green plants that should clear the air. I think that adding something alive to the space helps, too. This was a newly built house and I don't think it was as bad as it could be with the houses that are here for generations and accumulating a lot of energy (good and bad), so that's why I think these small things we did, helped us to live happier here. I started to believe that places have energy when I was driving through Poland a few years ago and not even knowing where exactly I was, I started to feel that something is wrong and dangerous. We were actually passing by Auschwitz which we realized after a few minutes of that "feeling"... Maybe I'm the one who's more sensitive to this, but I believe that we all have some sort of antenna for these kinds of things, someone recognizes it, someone denies it.

Pacifier problems and bad dreams!!!!

My so was about 2 1/2 when we decided to take the pacifier away. He would suck so much on his pacifier that a small hole would end up on the bottom. Well when he sucked it after there was the hole , it made a strange sound he didn't like. Needless to say I decided not to replace the pacifer (as I had done in the past when this happened)and told him it was broke and there weren't any more to buy!! I guess he bought this. He would put it in his mouth and it would make the sqeak squeak sound he didn't like with it having a hole and he would take it out and complain and I would say how it was broke. At bedtime I began to lay in his room on the carpeting as he went to sleep...next I moved to the hall...in the hall he could not see me and would ask if I was still there...this made him feel comfortable knowing I was around. I would stay there until I could he went to sleep. The eventually it wouldn't take any time for him to go to sleep and I would very quietly move further away from his room. It actually took about 2 weeks, and I was a stay at home Mom but it did work. I selected Christmas holiday when I knew my daughter would be out of school and I could be more flexible with her sleeping in case her brother while getting off the pacifer cried and kept her awake for a long time. He did do some crying at first but then stopped. This method may seem strange, but it worked for us. I guess everyone has their own way of doing it, but after a few days of trying off and on to suck on his pacifer and it making a loud squishy squeaky noise he more or less went cold turkey on doing without the pacifer that was broke. Mine make noises in their sleep as if they're dreaming, so I think they do.

Cats also snore. Loudly.

We had a cat (he's at the Rainbow Bridge now) who used to sleep under the bed, right at the head of the bed. I would hear loud snoring, and I was constantly nudging my Hubs to quit snoring. Turned out it was the cat!

My other cat would be sound asleep and start twitching and paws going like crazy. My cat does that too. My dog would sometimes almost cry in his sleep... I would wake him up and he would be fine. I think they do dream (good and bad) just like we do.

I'm not a cat person, but I have sat and watched many cats sleep. Whether it's nightmares or happily chasing a butterfly only them and God knows, but it's obvious they dream.

I've seen my cat dead asleep and her feet flexing,very quiet, showing her claws, then she stops and remains asleep. Probably dreaming about her ancestors in the jungle.
