Anyone Hear From Nicole?

I think her baby was due the 5th. She did say her babies were usually late. Just wondering HOW late?? Anxious to see little Oliver. (Bet she is, too!!)

I'm still at home, babyless. :) And yes, I am SO anxious to meet little Oliver! Sophie and Benjamin are too.

I see my doctor on Tuesday to schedule an induction if I haven't gone into labour by then. Sophie was close to 2 weeks late, Ben was 4 days. I'll be at least 4 days with this one now, too..... SIGH!

Thanks for asking about me, Patti. I'll post from the hospital as soon as I can!

Oliver might have been here by now. Don't mind me....I am just antsy, and a worrier about things like that by nature. I am glad you are doing fine.

I am here. Thanks for the pods and seeds Calvin. I sent an email last week to you but didn't hear back so not sure if you got it. Anyways I will summarize what I sent you: I really liked the Jalapenos. I have grown the Mucho Nacho before but got few pods to harvest so I never grew them again. The Biker Billys were always my favorite for heat and flavor. I was cautious about the Bhut Jolokias you sent but tried them and while they were scorchers, they weren't so hot that I couldn't eat a whole one mixed in with a meal. I ate one half of the red Bhut Jolokia on a sweet potato, and the other half mixed in with a chicken and spinach salad. I planted the seeds of the Bhut pods, but so far none have sprouted. We shall see as I recall they are one of the longest to germinate. Thanks again and I appreciate the extra effort in sending that package with all the extra goodies!

Beca, I remember a trip to Ely...no help on the garden side though. We had gone there for a Basque festival, food will be beyond wonderful. To get there we drove on the longest road of nothing in the US. It is actually listed as such. I also remember "Desperation" by Stephen King about the road. Ely is a very small town of 3,000+ with many original buildings, very quaint with a few casinos around. Lots of outdoor activities and old ghost towns, hunting, fishing, etc. Hopefully you will get some responses for the garden side. But recommend when you get there to check the library for a garden club and the University of Nevada extension office. Also the local newspaper. Perhaps all are on the net.

Please don't use oil. Oil can be very harmful to birds. I have no idea how to solve your dilemma about protecting the railings. Maybe hang your bird feeder away from the railing? You could put something down on the floor to protect it, like a throw away or washable mat of some sort.
