this is the Buster Boat

{{!gwi}}

Pelican bass raider etc

Will he go fishing in it? SIL has a boat, but looks much more sturdy. Has GPS, live bate tank, big engine. Personally, I would not go fishing in either of what you show, or want to be on rough water or in windy conditions.

you are too generous, Ms. Glenda! lol
sorry, it's not a big water boat, dh won't know about them!

Thanks Kat. I DID say FISHING boat.

I'm just doing my research BEFORE I make my decision.

There's a Fish & Game forum here. You'd probably have better luck getting info on those boats in that forum. I've linked it below.

Here is a link that might be useful: THS Fish & Game Forum

we don't have a fishing boat like that, i've never seen those kinds of boats here. i'm guessing it's for lakes? my dh thou recommended you check at BassPro shops, Cabelas and Gander Mountain... for real user reviews. Good Luck! that's a great dad & son gift! ~ liz

This is for lake fishing. Bass Pro carries similar ones to the two I posted. The first one the Buster Boat is carried by the local marine place close to my DS lakehouse, plus two other marine stores in my area.

I've looked at Academy, and Dick's and they carry the second one I posted, and good reviews.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

I have gone to couple boats forms and read reviews.

yep, not like dh's fishing boat! lol not even close.
sorry can't help

DH has a salmon boat, a trout boat (duroboat) and a fly-fishing pontoon boat. Those boats you had photos of were bass boats. So like Kat, no help from here either!

Yes, that's what I'm wanting to get and what has been recommended.

Just wanting input if anyone has on one or both of the above.

If this is for a gift, I think it would be wise to give a gift certificate and let the person pick out the boat he/she prefers.
I think a boat is a personal preference item.
You are a generous person!

PJR has already told his daddy what he wants. So no gift certificate.

I just needed pros and cons on the above or others that are similar.

No great debate.

His daddy knows the kind of boat PJR wants, but there are some with more bells and whistles.

I'd just like to end this with a thanks.l

i would recommend using the marine center close by thou, that way if they ever have a problem, help or service is near. practically everyone in FL owns a boat, we are very very luck to have a friend who is a marine mechanic, an invaluable asset. i had a co-worker w/ a nice 32'ocean cruising/fishing boat that has not left the dock in 3 yrs because it's broken :-( we want to see the cute pics of them using it o.k.?! ~ liz

Have two marine centers close to my son's lake house.

that are most reputable.

Again, thanks for the imputs.

I'm satisfied.

No most posts are necessary.

Thanks

My DH had a boat similar to what you show. We used it with a trolling motor on our small lake for several years before we sold it. The recipient will want a motor too which will add another hundred and fifty dollars (maybe more) to the cost. These are nice little boats which can be put into the back of a pickup and don't need a trailer. They are probably too heavy for one person to lift though. I wish we still had ours... my Dad took his boat back to his house and we now boat less (except for an old john boat which leaks badly).

Not really what you were looking for I realize, just bringing up some points that maybe haven't been considered.

It sounds like a very generous gift!

We have one like the one on the bottom..the gray one.

You cannot tip it. Our son and his friends put it in the swimming pool and tried rocking it as hard as they could, hoping they could tip it but couldn't

Our is a plastic with styrofoam inside.

I think Denny gave it to our grandson this past summer.

Denny has a regular boat for fishing, so that is what he uses.
