Either wait for a corrected invoice/email from the seller or if you haven't heard in a reasonable amount of time, send them an email with your address requesting correct postage.......

I'd say two days really is as long as I would wait but it never hurts to email a seller. Just go ahead and email her asking for the amounts. Then she won't have any reason to be concerned if she is waiting for you to email.

I have on my auctions that I "expect" to be contacted within 3 days of the end of an auction.....but that's just in case. I nearly always hear from my buyers right away....These days most people just immediately pay unless there is a postage issue and it can get into a gray area. I prefer that people wait for an email before they pay if the postage is an issue just so we have correct amounts because I always refund excess postage and it's just easier and cheaper not to have to do it.

I e-mailed the seller so we'll see. I just think that if there is a shipping amount in that section of the auction, that's what the buyer should have to pay. I don't think the seller should be able to contradict that in the description. When I bid, I take the sum of my bid and shipping into consideration. I don't want surprises later on. I only bid on this since their feedback was so good and it was a good price with a little wiggle room in shipping.

I agree with you paula. They shouldn't be able to change the shipping charges after the sale. There are options they can choose when they enter the item that calculates the shipping charges for different areas. Maybe they were just too lazy to weight the item in advance -but that's really not how ebay is done.

My gut feeling tells me the $10 is the highest flat rate shipping charge they will charge (based on a flat rate charge box plus a little handling)...but if you live in a closer area, they may be able to ship out the package priority at a lower charge and pass on the savings. Hopefully, they won't come back and charge you more; that's just not right.

Also, it seems kind of lame that you are paying for expedited shipping but then have to wait around for them to get back with you... part of that cost is so you get your item in a couple days. Hopefully you don't need the item soon and everything works out well.

Let's hope that she has that in there for your own sake as well as hers. Let us know if you hear from her. I once asked a seller if she would combine shipping. She said yes of course, so she charged me $35 instead of the $65 that she had on the individual auctions.....sounds good right....It cost her $5.65 to mail the package. I made up my mind right then and there that no buyer of mine would ever be cheated. I don't charge a handling fee either, seems to me that if you are selling something, you ought to expect to be handling it for shipment.

I don't mind paying a reasonable handling fee... the boxes, labels, packing material (even the purchase of the weighing scale and cost to laundry clothes, etc) do add up but generally it's just gonna to be a dollar or two.

ruthie, I'm just wondering... What did you buy that you thought the shipping was reasonable at $35.00 and then it was only $5.65? Unless it was huge, overnighted, or insured for a lot, I would think it should almost never reach $35.00.

Well she only charged me $6 instead of $10 so it worked out. She said she had sent an invoice already but I never got it.

I felt she would be fair since she had so many transactions and 100% positive feedback (and I read the feedback first to see if there were any veiled problems).

So I got Nick, who loves any type of plush animals or beanie babies and also loves the Wizard of Oz, a set of 10 (supposedly) MWT Wizard of Oz beanie babies for $19.99 plus $6 shipping for Christmas. I almost don't want to give them to him to play with but that is the point. Anything Wizard of Oz seems to be collectible (i.e. expensive) even though these are only from 1998.
