I've always gotten ours at LLBean. They are excellent quality, wash well, are sized to fit deeper mattresses, and are wonderfully soft and toasty. They also cost a bit more than other places, but the price seems worth it to me. We don't live in a terribly cold climate - nothing like the posters who live in the Dakotas - but the Washington foothills still get darned cold. So LLBean sheets are a wonderful bargain...

my problem with bargain flannels is the lint. one set I got lost so much lint, they are thin after the first wash, and really thin after the second wash. :(

I know what you mean Moni had some like that once.
These are however 5oz. Which is the same as the ll bean flannels.
I won't buy anything under 5oz.
I also like the ll bean ones and still have a set of them.
One of my favorite sets in a creamy beige color brand new, my cleaning gal washed them with a multi color woven place mat and my sheets came out almost tye died but not in a good way.

I can't wait for the day when I'm no longer on fire and want to sleep on a flannel sheet...I do however love 3 or 4 quilts!! My wish list is a cool pillow!!

But LL Bean fitted sheets are only 15" deep, and we have a 16" deep mattress with a 3" topper on it. :-(

Liz, look into a Chiroflow Pillow. I got one in July. Cost about 50.00, but it is well worth it. My cleaning lady raved about hers after she had neck surgery. I ordered one for neck pain. You fill it with water to the firmness you desire. Took me a couple of nights to get the right comfort level for me. Sucker is heavy, but I'm not flipping it thirty times a night because it gets too hot. It stays the perfect temperature, for me, nice and cool and has helped with my neck and shoulder pain. It took me a few nights to get used to, but I really love it now. Like a waterbed for your head and neck. LOL

It is LL Bean for me. Our mattress is 15" so the 12" sheets would not fit.

I waited till spring this past year & was able to get a queen size set of flannel sheets for $29.99. That set replaced a set that was 25 years old & getting thin.

I love flannel sheets. I never had any problems with mine, they are not at all thin. I bought mine at Walmart a few yrs ago. They are still thick and in great condition.
The ones first listed do look a bit thin.

They sound cozy, but we don't use them. We typically have pretty warm winters & would only need something like that maybe in Jan & Feb, and then only for a few days. It's still in the mid 60's here & only dropping into the mid 50's at night. It's supposed to be back up near 80 a few days from now! We just keep a light blanket on the bed when it does get into the 30's at night.

I have a couple of sets and they're great. I got them at either Marshall's TJ Maxx, or Home Goods - can't remember which. Doesn't anyone shop there? Much less expensive (and just as fine quality IMO) than the places mentioned.

Love flannel sheets now but for years I wouldn't put them on my bed. We had those pink or blue striped Ibex flannel sheets when we were kids. The first time I put flannel sheets on my bed I had just started using a feather bed, and I had new fleece pjs on and then a duvet. I went to bed feeling nice and cozy and then not 20 minutes later I was throwing all the covers off including my pjs. Too hot hahaha.

Now i love my flannel sheets, I have a few sets and even use them in the summer time. I also love my micro fibre sheets. They are so cozy and not hot at all.

We gave up our flannel sheets last year when I found the micro fleece sheets. They are fantastic! So comfy. I ordered them from QVC. Just make sure you get micro fleece NOT micro fiber. Not the same thing.

Same price as JC Penney's and they have coupons and additional coupon discounts. Very heavy/thick!

we bought some the first winter here in mi, and none since...dh sleeps "hot"....our fave are the RE brand jersey sheet sheets at target...they're always going on sale....they go up to 15" deep...

So your pocket isn't big enough - rip out the short part that makes the bottom corner and sew on a few inches of the good edge of an old sheet whose middle part had had the biscuit, remake the pocket.
