I tried Latisse, made my eyelids extremely irritated. I will stick to mascara!

It is something I wouldn't try. Obviously it is something you have to keep on using or your lashes revert to their short, sparse self. I like having my vision more than lush lashes. It probably works for some, though.

awwww you don't have to be attracting male attention to want to look good! i have a friend who uses latisse and gets fake lashes woven in. she works in the plastic surgery industry and takes full advantage of all available technologies to look her best :-) she was getting sty's for a bit but it was the lash weaves pulling on her lashes. she has had no effects from latisse. it is such a popular treatment that she & her DH have bought alot of their stock too.

i have the opposite problem too many lashes and almost too long too. i can't find mascara that works well for long because it thickens over weeks. i need super thin almost water-like so my lashes don't clump and i can't use too much because the lengths start getting mascara on my upper eyelids :-/ this is really the only good thing beauty wise i got going LOL! i SWEAR my lashes are like this solely due to my facial cleanser, Purity by Philosophy. when i stop using that cleanser my lashes do thin out. ~ liz

I think lashes are overrated. LOL, but I'm also serious. I wear eye makeup, but haven't worn mascara in years because I don't like the feel of it. My lashes have always been light brown (I'm a blonde), and aging hasn't helped them stand out. But my eyes still get complimented occasionally.

I read the articles on Latisse when it came out, and thought the risks sounded downright scary. I was surprised that Brooke Shields would take those risks.

I used Latisee for several months. My doctor told me to use just one small drop for both eyes to make it last longer.

It was very easy and quick to do and my lashes were much longer. It took a couple of months to see the difference. I also rubbed the brush over the ends of my eyebrows to make them thicker, but I didn't see any change there.

My lashes didn't get darker, though, so I still had to use mascara. So I stopped using it and they are back to what they were before. Sometimes I miss how long they used to be but they look almost as good when I wear mascara.

I would like thicker longer lashes, but when I heard one of the side effects could turn my green eyes to brown that freaked me out and was enough to change my mind!! No thank you. Maybe if my eyes were brown to start with, but that just sounds really gross and I've heard about the circles under your eyes. Help in one area and hurt in another!

My lashes are long enough, but not thick. I use Chapstick on them at night -- a separate tube just for my lashes, so I'm not getting 'spit' near my eyes. If I don't use it, my lashes get brittle and short.

I still have to use mascara to darken the lashes. I wash the wand with soap and hot water and drip some Bactine over it every two weeks. Seems to stop the 'clumping'.

I use RapidLash and it really works for me. However, when I bought a tube from a local store rather than from the online source where I started, it quit working. The effect was so slow I didn't notice for quite a while. I was afraid they had changed the formula. I called them and they said they hadn't. They asked what the date was on the tube and said it was old. I bought another tube online and started using it and my lashes are getting longer again. I use it on my brows and they are thicker and the hairs in them are longer as well. In fact, I have to trim a few of them. I have brown eyes, so I didn't worry about them changing color. I haven't had any circles under my eyes, but the rims of my eyelids have darkened a little. Which is okay by me.

The stuff they use is the same type of thing as one of my glaucoma meds....and it did change my eye color somewhat.....not totally blue to totally brown, but I now have some brown overtones in them. AND an area of skin under my bottom lash is now a reddish brown that I have to use a coverup on. But in my case, I didn't have a choice. (I do have thicker, longer lashes though.)

The dr told me it doesn't do the color change on everyone.

This is really interesting - I am in peri menopause - age 49. I am blond, my eyebrows are starting to turn grey/white, and over the last few months I have really seen a difference in my eyelashes! My daughter is getting married next year & I have been thinking about either the latrisse or falsh eyelashes - a weave? I use mascara every day. for some women lipstick is the "item" they can't leave the house without - for me it is mascara. any advice?

I did some research on eye color changing and it can happen when the medicine is used directly in the eyes but is almost unheard of while using Latisse on just the lids. Plus it would happen slowly and it would be easy to stop using it if there was any change. My eyes are green and I saw no change.

I haven't tried it. Makes me a little nervous.

Liz, I bought Purity a few weeks ago based on the glowing recommendations it has on Amazon. I love it, but it gives me awful cystic acne! I was hoping it was just a fluke, but I've flared up in each of the 3 experiments I've done and my skin clears right up when I stop using it. :( It's sad, I love everything about it. You're lucky you can use it!

@Chi83 i don't get acne from philosophy purity now but when i first started using it i did but kept using it since i had bought a big 32oz lol. 9 yrs ago i started using it because of the reviews too, i have oily skin and could barely stand to use a cream cleanser but it really works well for me now. make sure you rinse alot. this spring i got a clarisonic and that has made a tremendous difference in my skin's clarity, smoothness and firmness! sounds like a commercial but i can't live w/o it now. i use alot of their facial products along w/ most of the body and scent ones.

back to the eyelashes, i was tempted to try latisse, even thou i don' really need it, i was hoping for darkening and using no mascara. the eye color warning changed my mind, i admit. i have green-hazel eyes and don't want brown-hazel. my friends already has brown eyes and saw no changes in eye color or under eye color. ~ liz

Liz, I also got a Clarisonic earlier this year! I love it too. It was actually those reviews on Amazon that guided me to Purity. Hmm, maybe I'll keep trying it since I have a huge bottle as well. Maybe a toner afterward to get any leftover residue. Thanks for the advice!
