This thread has me on the alert for subdivision names now. I've start making quick tours through subdivisions to see if they live up to their names. On my trip home yesterday... On Lake Brandt Rd which really does go to Lake Brandt (eventually), I found Brandt Forest - miles from the lake and lacking any trees taller than the top of my little pickup truck. Down the street, I found Century Oaks, no oaks, no trees old enough to stand up on their own (if you know what I mean). A little further down the road, Millicent's Pond - no pond, I looked. DH wonders why I get lost on the way home!!!

I love Jerry Baker and all of his crazy tips and tonics! He gets that gardening is like life you have to try this and that and see what works best for you. If you need gardening and/or life to be an exact recipe for your happiness and success you need to go back to chemicals at the gardening store. In any event I'm looking to perk up my hibiscus out on the balcony. Does anyone have Jerry's recipe for houseplant tonic? Many thanks for sharing it if you do.

When I dropped my DS off at school yesterday, I couldn't believe the SHORT and TIGHT shorts this 3rd or 4th grader had on! I hope someone at school said something to her about wearing that. I don't even know what the dress code is at school, since I have a boy, and all he wants to wear is UnderArmor athletic stuff. Plus, she had on the one pair of flip flops that I DISPISE (sp??), you know, the one's that have fabric ties on the top that fall to the sides and get all dirty. I thought those were 10 years ago anyway! LOL!

" Was this a parody, as in the link golddust posted, is MC the voice of a generation ? " I honestly don't think that much thought went into it. I think it makes more sense that miley is trying to shed her good girl image just like britney and christina A did. from the link:" The thing is, Miley failed so spectacularly that it's almost easier to believe she screwed it up on purpose than to accept that she really thought she was being hot." she does the same things in her music videos, the tongue forever hanging out, the leotards, the hip hop gestures etc all designed to be cool and sexy. she wants to be perceived as a bad girl If MC wanted to save her image then she would tell everyone it was a parody, but that's not coming from her, it's coming from another source that hopes this is a parody. But, that don't make it so..... This post was edited by trancegemini_wa on Thu, Aug 29, 13 at 8:17
