Well, of *course* if you have a manor like that it would have to be out in the country where I wouldn't have to worry about silly earthquakes, blue ;). I'm a sucker for "period" movies, too. There's a big part of me that wishes we still had at least some of that sense of propriety and manners and formality. Besides, it'd give me a chance to dress up more often. Speaking of blue, near the beginning of the movie is an absolutely gorgeous saturated blue room. I fell in serious lust. No way I'd ever get that color into this house (unless as an accent), though, as Hubby has an immediate phobia against anything "dark".

Since you asked.... I saw it two days after it was released. Mind you, I was looking at the credits at the end of "The Last Cruisade" in the theater in 1989 when I first thought "I sure hope this isn't the last one of these they make!" Nineteen years of wishing, waiting & hoping. Finally it was here. I made up my mind that "Raiders" and "Last Cruisade" set the bar so high in my mind that I was only hoping to reach the level of "Temple of Doom", the weakest of the first 3 in my opinion. Sadly, the first time I saw HF in this one I thought "OMG, he's so old!!!", not that I'm young myself. I'd need a liquid Bayer Aspirin IV drip if I thought I'd do a tenth of the stunts that Indy was going through. It was more like National Treasure than Indiana Jones, for those of you who saw that movie. NT was not a bad movie, but it wasn't IJ. You could almost say the same about "Crystal Skull".

I saw Gravity and Capt. Phillips this past weekend. Both were good, but Capt. Phillips much better than Gravity. Tom Hanks is a superior actor. I like Sandra Bullock very much, but to me it seems she always is herself in movies. Unlike Meryl Streep who plays a wide range of roles.

I saw Hugo last night, simply amazing film, will walk away with Oscars for sure. The length didn't bother me, but I do think it is too deep for children. Just my opinion... Linda~
