Saw the movie ' Twilight ' today

Anna has been wanting to see it. She is being homeschooled so I told her to stop school work at 11:20 today and we would go see the noon show. The county schools will be out Wednesday thru next Monday and I figured it would be much more crowded then.

The show lasted two hours, but to me it seemed much longer. There were a few good parts, but most of it was boring to me. Even Anna said she was disappointed.

I know some off you have read the book and have planned to see the show. There may even be another post about it here, but I haven't seen one. I wonder if the movie might be more interesting to someone who has read the books.

My Granddaughter saw the movie this past weekend and I asked her if she liked it and she told me it was ok but she thought if you didn't read the books you wouldn't really know what was going on in the movie...

My friend Jen TX and I went to see it yesterday and we thought it was good and followed the book very well and that it was entertaining. Hopefully they're working on New Moon already. Considering the size of the book and the length of a movie, they did a good job cramming all the necessary parts into it. And judging by the giggling girls in the theater, they were all enjoying it very, very much.

It was showing in at least 4 different rooms at the small theater so I am guessing that turnout has been very high.

Since you asked.... I saw it two days after it was released. Mind you, I was looking at the credits at the end of "The Last Cruisade" in the theater in 1989 when I first thought "I sure hope this isn't the last one of these they make!" Nineteen years of wishing, waiting & hoping. Finally it was here. I made up my mind that "Raiders" and "Last Cruisade" set the bar so high in my mind that I was only hoping to reach the level of "Temple of Doom", the weakest of the first 3 in my opinion. Sadly, the first time I saw HF in this one I thought "OMG, he's so old!!!", not that I'm young myself. I'd need a liquid Bayer Aspirin IV drip if I thought I'd do a tenth of the stunts that Indy was going through. It was more like National Treasure than Indiana Jones, for those of you who saw that movie. NT was not a bad movie, but it wasn't IJ. You could almost say the same about "Crystal Skull".

I saw Gravity and Capt. Phillips this past weekend. Both were good, but Capt. Phillips much better than Gravity. Tom Hanks is a superior actor. I like Sandra Bullock very much, but to me it seems she always is herself in movies. Unlike Meryl Streep who plays a wide range of roles.

Not a Sci-Fi person but we just got back from seeing "Footloose". I really liked it, they kept true to the original story line and I enjoyed all the people they chose as characters. The guy who played Willard (Ren's friend) looks so much like some other actor (who could have been his father) but when the credits ran, his last name was Teller. Can't tell you who he reminds me of - I thought maybe the guy who played in Must Love Dogs and Serendipity. John C someone. Anyway Julianne Hough was really good - she looked like a young Jennifer Anniston. Her parents were played by Randy Quaid (or was it Dennis) and Andi McDowell. Loved the music as before. I will be humming it for the next few days!

I saw Hugo last night, simply amazing film, will walk away with Oscars for sure. The length didn't bother me, but I do think it is too deep for children. Just my opinion... Linda~
