cheesy potato soup, recipe please?

I am looking forward to cheese potato. I like my recipe but it's not the best. anyone have a favorite to give me please????

Here's the one I use: Navy Bean Soup From Food Network Kitchens 1 lb navy beans, picked over, rinsed and drained 10 sprigs parsley 2 sprigs fresh thyme 1 bay leaf 2 large smoked ham hocks, about 1-1/2 lb 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped 1 clove garlic, coarsely chopped 8 c cold water 1 medium carrot, coarsely chopped Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper Butter for garnish Place beans in a large saucepan and cover with cold water by about 2 inches. Bring to a boil and lower the heat to simmer. Cook for 5 minutes, remove from heat, cover and let sit for one hour. Drain and reserve. Tie parsley, thyme and bay leaf together with kitchen twine. In large soup pot or dutch oven, combine the beans, herb bundle, hocks, onions and garlic with the water. Bring to a boil, cover and adjust the heat so that the soup cooks at a gentle simmer. Cook until the beans and hocks are completely tender, about 1-1/2 hours. Turn off heat and remove hocks. Cool slightly. Remove meat from hocks, discarding the bones, fat and skin. Cut meat into small cubes. Remove herb bundle from soup and discard. Puree about 3 cups of the beans with some of the liquid in a blender. (For a smooth soup, you may puree all the beans). Stir the puree and diced meat into the soup. Heat the soup and adjust seasoning as needed with salt & pepper. Ladle into heated bowls, place a small pat of butter on top of each bowl of soup, serve. Consider that you have two options. One is to find a recipe to actually cook in a crockpot. The other option is to cook in another method, and serve it in the crockpot to keep it warm. I like the second option best, you have a lot more choices of recipes. Here's one I like a lot. Take small red potatoes (2 to 2-1/2 inches). Wash, then microwave for about 5 minutes (well, for 5 potatoes for the two of us, plus leftovers, it's 5 minutes; for more potatoes, I'd do it in batches). Cool enough to handle, cut into 1" pieces, leave skins on. Toss with EVOO, S&P, chopped parsley, whatever other herb mix you like (there is no right or wrong), and some fresh grated parmesan cheese. Place on oiled baking pan, I try to keep then all close together but only 1 layer deep. Bake at 425 for about 10 minutes to brown. Transfer to crockpot for warming/serving.

Here are a couple of my favorites. Both could be made with ground turkey or chicken. Vegetable Burger Soup makes 10-12 servings 1 lb. ground beef or pre-cooked frozen ground beef 2 lbs. can stewed or diced tomatoes 1 1 lb. can tomato sauce 4 cups water 2 10 oz. pkgs mixed frozen vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, green beans) 1 envelope dry onion soup 2 t. sugar - white or brown Brown beef and drain off fat if using fresh. Thaw beef if using frozen precooked. Add rest of ingredients to soup pot or slow cooker. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer one hour if in pot on stove. Cook on low for 8 hours if in crock pot. I add diced cooked potato cubes to this after thawing the soup and before heating. Sometimes cooked potatoes become soft with freezing. You can use diced fresh onion if the onion soup is too salty. Taco Soup I used less meat and it was great; subbed some bulk sausage for some of the ground beef. I did not include the can of hominy. You could use no salt versions of the tomatoes and tomato sauce. Not sure what you could sub for the Ranch Dressing or taco mix. Maybe garlic and parsley for the Ranch and chili powder for the taco? 2 pounds ground round 1 large onion, diced 1 packet taco seasoning 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch original dry mix salad dressing 1 can kidney beans (with liquid) 1 can pinto beans with jalapeÃ±os (with liquid) 1 can yellow hominy 1 can diced tomatoes and green chilies (Rotel) 2 cans stewed tomatoes (I use Mexican stewed tomatoes) 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce 1 cup of water Cook beef and onion until beef is browned, drain excess grease. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.

Here's a recipe. I've never made it in a crock pot so your on your own. You can also substuite the soup for cream of chicken. Hash Brown Casserole for the Slow Cooker Prep Time: 15 Minutes Cook Time: 4 Hours Ready In: 4 Hours 15 Minutes Servings: 16 "The traditional hash brown casserole side dish is made even easier. Prepare ahead of time and start cooking when you need to. This dish is also great to take to parties." 2 cups sour cream 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted 2 cups shredded processed cheese 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 (32 ounce) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed Directions: 1. In a large bowl, stir together the sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, cheese, onion, salt and pepper. Gradually mix in the hash browns until evenly coated. 2. Coat the inside of a slow cooker with cooking spray or butter. Spoon the hashbrown mixture into the slow cooker. Cover, and cook on High for 1 1/2 hours, then reduce heat to Low, and cook for an additional 2 1/2 hours.

Patti's CHEESEBURGER SOUP
1 pound of ground beef - browned
1 small onion diced and cooked with ground beef (opt.)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
3 cans of water
1 can whole kernel corn
2 cups cubed potatoes peeled & partially cooked
3/4 cup of grated cheddar cheese and diced dill pickle
added just before serving.
These are all just basic, you can add more cheese or more
soup and water.Whatever makes it good for you...

I love this soup..I found this recipe last year and made it 3 times within 6 mos..

I use any thin skinned potatoes.

Here's another one.

Cheesy Potato Soup

5 lb russet potatoes peeled & diced
1/2 cup flour
1 TBL seasoning salt.
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 TBL coffee creamer
1 lb mild cheddar cheese

Diced green onions,croutons & bacon bits for a topping

Put the diced potatoes in a large 6qt dutch oven. Cover with water, put the lid on & bring to a boil for 45 minutes. Then pour the liquid into a sauce pan. Put the heat on medium. Add the flour, seasoning salt, pepper & coffee creamer....whisking all the time until it thickens. Then add the cheese, stiring constantly. Pour the liquid back over the potatos. It's ready to serve.

My family used to love this one. Haven't made in years, but so yummy.

Bacon Potato Cheese Soup

8 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups cubed, peeled potatoes
1 cup water
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 3/4 cup milk
1 (4 oz) container sour cream
1/2 tsp salt
Pepper
1 (8 oz) pkg shredded Cheddar cheese

In bacon grease, saute onions for 2-3 minutes. Drain. Place onions,
potatoes, and water in a large pot. Bring to a boil. Cover and
simmer about 15 minutes.
Stir in soup, sour cream and crumbled bacon. Add milk, salt and
pepper and 1/2 of the cheese. Heat to serving temperature without
boiling.
Sprinkle remaining cheese on individual serving bowls.

Added the bacon as a topping instead of stirring it in.

Here's a simple recipe...

You can add what you like.

Cheesy Potato Soup

5 - 6 baking potatoes
2 c. water
2 c. milk
1 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese
1 lg. onion, cut up

peel potatoes, cut in chunks, bring to boil, simmer until they are not hard but not too soft.

cook onions before putting in soup or do like I do and use dry minced onions.

Pour water off potatoes mix all together and heat until cheese is melted.
