Potluck for ladies church group, today. There were 11 of us.

I made sausage and apple casserole; made with Jimmy Dean sage sausage, a good can of apple pie filling, mixed with grated cheese, then topped with more cheese. I sprinkled some cinnamon on top before adding the cheese.

Good, but I think next time I might add some chopped nuts.

Others brought fried chicken, dressing with gravy, broccoli casserole, veggie casserole, etc.

And I ate a mini homewood carrot cake muffin.

Good food.

Afterwards, we sat in a circle and shared a bit about ourselves.

Today Cheryl and I went to my oldest Granddaughter's. We followed other daughter Terri there. We got to see the baby room she is working on. It looks nice. We did a little shopping and then we all had lunch at Chili's. I had all you can eat potato soup and salad. I just had one of each. I was not impressed with the soup. After they went back home we shopped a little more and then came home. I am so tired for some reason. The weather has been very nice.

Yep! brown the sausage, drain, mix the pie filling and cheese. Bake 350 for 25-30 minutes until heated. **I did cut the apple slices into smaller pieces so you got a bit of sausage and apple in every bite. I bought Duncan Hines apple pie filling.

I toyed with using Jimmy Dean's new Italian sausage, but ended up with the sage sausage.

It's been cold and rainy here today. I did not have a good night's sleep last night so I've been tired all day. Lucky for me (and DH, too) I decided to make dinner early this afternoon before I really crashed. I made a big pot of white chili and I just put some corn muffins in the oven. Sounded so good to me since I'm feeling the cold. Smells good, too.

Cincinnati Chile (chili over spaghetti noodles) and some fresh veggies with dill dip.

I had a favorite comfort food meal.....pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. The dishes are done so I'm set for the evening. The sun has been shining here a lot in my part of Ohio with temps in the 60s........a beautiful fall week.

Cincinati chili...is an interesting concept...never done..but I'm sure I'd love it..

Shirley, we do pork, mashed potatoes and fried cabbage...those are classic combos...no matter how the cabbage is done.

I think we'll have grilled burgers. All kinds of possibilities for toppings....I think I'll sautee some onions and mushrooms. A side salad with sliced avocado and blue cheese dressing.

Glenda, Jimmy Dean Italian sausage has been around for years. They make hot and mild links and tubes of bulk. It's good, but not great.

Well, I've never seen Jimm Dean's Italian sausage at my Wal Mart until yesterday, Rhizo.

I always buy my links at Fresh Market, but I'll certainly try the "new to me" builk Jimmy Dean sausage next time I need some.

I have used their maple flavored, mild and sage before, but never seen the Italian until yesterday.

Buffalo chicken and waffle fries with a side salad

We went out for Mexican tonight.

I buy the Jimmy Dean Natural at Costco 3lb log for $6.99 every two weeks..and it often doesn't get us through. I make patties with just shy of 2/3 for breakfast sandwiches and the rest goes into sausage gravy for one Thursday breakfast night. The Natural small (12 or 16 oz) tube is almost $5 in the grocery if you can find it.

I just made butter for the first time..out of half a quart of cream, I ended up with about 1/2 c butter and 2 c "butter milk".

I haven't seen the 'natural ' Jimmy Dean. Do you like it much better?

We rarely have sausage but when one of gets hungry for it....watch out! Sausage gravy, sausage patties with biscuits, eggs, grits, sliced tomatoes or fruit on the side. Sausage gravy is so delectable.

I do love good grilled Sweet Italian sausage links, on a crunchy bun, smothered with cooked onions and green peppers.

Too tired to cook again, plus tomorrow is weigh in at WW, so I might just do a small green salad topped with tuna, onion and balsamic vinegar. Thankfully DH had a business lunch and is still full.

rhizo, Italian sausage with peppers and onions is one of my top 5 comfort foods...Yum!

Rhizo, absolutely..they used to have a hot variety..but can't find it..so I add extra red pepper flakes when using it crumbled..

So hubby said taters..so fried taters in coconut oil, steak fingers in bacon grease, cinnamon rolls and scrambled eggs..

Yummmmm...

It's still in the oven but just 7 PM here. Scalloped potatoes with ham, I've made a tossed salad and we'll have some fruit yogurt, bread.
