I'm so happy!!

We'ved lived here three years and painted all the living areas ourselves. But Harry can't help with the cut in around the ceiling anymore and I can't be on my knees long enough to cut in around the baseboard, so I got estimates and today I'm having both bedrooms and baths painted. They were all a blah ivory color before. The paint guy I chose is painting now and it's so beautiful and makes such a difference I just can't tell you!! For the guest bedroom and bath I chose a blue/green color in a dark shade and it is just wonderful (to me, anyway). The blue/green matches the leaves that come up on the bedspead from the bottom and matches all the pillows. I plan to buy "wall words" that spell out CUDDLE for the wall behind the bed.

Tomorrow he'll come back and start on our bedroom and bath which will be a medium brown. Our quilt is white with coral colored with a reef design with wide bands of coral color on the top and bottom and coral-colored pillows. I want to go to Beall's and get the small pictures I've seen for our bedroom which are white with pictures of sand dollars, coral, etc.

He's doing such a terrific job and is so sweet. And I am one happy camper!!

Next up is Stanley Steamer to clean our off white carpets which need it badly!!! WOO HOO!!

Oh that sounds wonderful Patti. I can't wait to see it in February when Carol and I do our road trip.

It's always so nice when you can locate a plant or flower that you had at one time and loved... yes, do post when you get flowers! For the longest time, I called these bulbs Amaryllis... until I learned that the only true Amaryllis is A. Belladonna, and all others are Hippeastrums! I'm sort of a stickler for Latin plant names, and I like to label things correctly... so, I've taken to calling them by their proper name. It's funny, because most garden center workers have no clue and look at you weird when you ask for Hipeastrums! LOL!

Hi Kelli~A few years ago I found these folks and they helped me along the way as I planned my Ozarks gardens...still have so much to learn, but one thing you can count on ...they are always there for you and they are the most encouraging and supportive group on the Gardenweb! I had to to move away for a while and spent some time in the northeast and tried to hook up with those folks, but is just wasn't the same...now I am in the Pacific and where do I still go?? Back to the Ozarks (where I hope to return one day)...and I am still drawing on their sense of family and knowledge... You'll love it here and will learn a lot ...

Good for you IÂm glad it was that easy for you. It took nine months of the GE repairman coming to my house every Monday before GE finally replaced my less than 2 year old refrigerator. My neighbor thought I was having a fling with the young man and ask DH about it. LOL He replaced everything in the refrigerator and it still froze everything I put in it. I havenÂt any reason to believe that the new one will last five years and you bet I will never buy GE again. Claudia

Oh too cool EMT. I'm sure your items will sell quickly. Your work is soo beautiful. I too am glad to have some of my work in my sister's Gallery. So far nothing has sold but she says "Rosie" (my horse) sure has a lot of interest. Maybe it will sale @ Christmas. I'm working on 2 more pieces as we speak. And another is rattling around in my head. It never STOPS... I just don't have enough hours in the day!!!! I'll post later on both or all 3 three if I can get the RATTLING to stop! LOL!!! LATER

pattie, I know just how you feel. After living with the colors that were here when I moved in 10 years prior, I finally had my house painted inside. I chose greens and soft yellows and I just love it so much!! I never knew what a difference it could make to be surrounded with colors that you love!!! I'm happy you are getting your colors just the way you want!!

You'll feel like you are living in a brand new house.
They always say that painting is the cheapest decorating, but I'm scared to paint. Actually hubby and I did the kitchen in a dark red, and the white cupboards really stand out. But the paint-job is not the greatest. :-) It's a small room to experiment in.

It sounds beautiful Patti!

DH and I have painted some of our rooms, but I am much happier with the clean lines of the professionally painted rooms. DH and I are messy and slow too... more reasons to hire the job out. :-)

Lydia, we're slow, too. And messy--good grief, are we ever! He really wanted to do it all yesterday, but by the time he picked up my paint samples and went to Lowe's for the paint, there just wasn't time. I was going to call Habitat to take that big king-sized bed, but the painter said he'd be happy to have it. So that's all taken care of, too.

Nita, I'm so glad you and Carol will be able to come again! You're both so much fun. I sure hope the weather is better than it was last year. Remember how cold and rainy it was? Ick! Maybe Joann fl and her DH and JoanMN/FL and her DH will be able to join us this year.

Paint really does make it seem like a brand new house and I'm so relieved the colors turned out right. Harry thought they were a little dark and I told him to trust me. Whew, so glad he likes them.

Today he's painting our bedroom and bath. The brown even when dried doesn't seem really dark. Hope Harry is as pleased with it as with the other.

Thanks for all the happy wishes. It's just such a relief to have it all done.

I wish I had learned enough about computers already to add a little jelly-bean guy or a happy banana to mine too. but it will have to suffice that I am excited for you to have colors that really reflect who you are now. How exciting to get a whole new house thanks to someone painting. Hope the house hugs you with happiness for quite awhile. l.marie
