I heard from MaryAnn's sister

I sent a message to Faith telling her who I am and asking if she could please tell us what is happening. I just got this reply from her.

Hi Nita, yes, I remember when you and Mary Ann did the Texas tour. She loved it. Jessie and Mary Ann's sons have talked with Hospice twice but Hospice doesn't step in until the patient accepts that they are dying. Mary Ann has a strong will to live and is not ready to die. Her kidneys are functioning at 15%, her lungs have so much liquid in them that she has to remain on the ventilator. God is the God of Miracle so please keep praying. Thanks and I'll try to keep you posted, Faith

WEll,if she is fighting to live she can still pull through this.We don't know what God has planned for her and obviously her faith is strong! I will keep praying for her and the family.Thanks for the update Nita.

I just ordered Three Sisters from Avalon Acres...I've never ordered from them before, but I thought I would give them a try. It seems like a great price, but I have no idea what size plant I will be getting...who would have thought I was a gambling type! There are three girls in my family, so I hope to eventually divide it to share with my two sisters. Avalon Acres also has a hosta named Amber Glass that I didn't find in the Hosta Library. It sounds intriguing...does anyone have that one?

"Here is a recipe for homemade Pedialyte. It is very important for babies and children not to become dehydrated when they're sick! Use instead of juice or milk for diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. This will not aggravate a sick tummy. 2 quarts water 1-teaspoon baking soda 1-teaspoon salt 7 Tablespoons sugar 1 packet Sugar-Free Kool-Aid 1/2-teaspoon salt substitute The salt substitute and Kool-Aid are optional. Store in the refrigerator. Be creative; use your special Kool-Aid to make ice cubes so it will stay cool in their bottle or sippy-cup. Or, insert toothpicks into your ice cubes before freezing and make homemade popsicles."

This is heart breaking on so many levels, but they say that the will to live can overcome many dire situations. My sister was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer and given 6 weeks to live. She lived for 12 years! Mary Ann and her family are in my thoughts.

That better! Sounds to me like she is communicating her desires and that is a good thing.

I was talking to Mary Ann several months ago and the Doctor told her she could take a break from Chemo. She told him "No, I'm gonna beat this thing".

She has every intention of fighting to live and the faith to do it.

Continued thoughts and prayers for our Friend Mary Ann and her Family.

MaryAnn, we are all here, pulling for you and praying for you!

It has been proven in medical studies, following thousands of people with cancer and other terminal diseases, over a 2-year period, that those who get MAD and FIGHT a disease live longer than those who try to 'accept' and cope with it.
