i like portugese kale soup, a good ham and bean soup or any other meaty vegetable type soup. usually with oyster crackers or crusty french bread. can't forget a good creamy potato soup. wow, getting hungry for soup. guess that will be on the menu for tomorrow.

I love soup and couldn't possibly pick a favorite. I guess I could say that my favorite soup is whatever I'm eating at the time!

Now that cool temperatures are around the corner, Robert will start asking for HIS favorites. We eat quite a bit of cm. of cauliflower, pea, chicken, tomato bisque, and seafood chowder over the fall and winter.

My homemade chicken corn noodle, made thick with rivels. Eats more like a stew.
I also love a good ham and potato, tomato bisque, french onion, chili and spicy black bean.
Give me a big chunk of a crusty bread and I am in heaven!

Like others who just love soup, it is very difficult to pick a favorite. I love beef barley soup and I add a splash of vinegar to my bowl. Oh, wow, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

And I am hooked on lentil soup. Every time I make it, it's different. I use whatever meat might be left over from dinner or is clinging to bones that I have stored in the freezer. It ALWAYS has cumin and curry in it. Most often it also has tomatoes in it and lots of other vegetables. Usually a jalapeno or two as well. I can't wait for winter, although I often eat soup in the summertime, too. In fact, I had lentil soup for lunch today.

Chicken and rice.

It's hard to pick a favorite. I like Manhattan clam chowder, pea soup and minestrone. Oh, and wedding soup and Mulligatawny and I could go on and on.

Probably tomato basil. Love Applebee's tomato soup with their pecan salad...can't remember the name of it but it has fruit, pecans and bleu cheese on it.

I also love split pea soup.

I love all kinds of soup but love my very own refrigerator soup......it is whatever left overs I may have with either beef or chicken stock.
I really dislike split pea soup and corn chowder.

Potato Leek or Lobster Bisque

I love soup and it's so hard to pick a favorite, but I'd have to say my top two are a homemade minestrone (with tons of veggies) and sourdough baguette for dipping. Corn chowder with a biscuit.

Like almost everyone else, I like them all. Well, except for lentil. For an absolute favorite I'm torn between chili and home-made vegetable beef soup. Both have to have lots of meat in them. And I prefer my own so I can control the salt.

I made a ministrone yesterday, but it seemed like it needed a few more things. So I added some beef stew meat and shredded it, and added parsnips and a can of corn to the recipe's list of celery, onions, potatoes, carrots. The pot was so full of vegetables, I could not put all of the ones I planned to use in it. So after we had a few bowls, I added cut green beans, turnips and more broth today.

I made chick noodle today, plus we love chili, veg soup, and potato soup.

Well, I thought the homemade chicken noodle soup I had for lunch.

Now, I want go buy a hamhock and beans, thaw out some burger for chili, use my potatoes with some celery, onions and milk....

There is no bad soup.

I am totally weird, the mushroom soup served on Continental Airlines is my favorite, then, any seafood or tortilla soup.

It has to go good, but I love New England clam chowder.
But I love cajun crab bisque AND chicken and sausage gumbo.

I like soups of most all kinds. I guess my favorite right now is Broccoli cheese or potato soup.

It used to be Campbell's Scotch Broth but haven'[t been able to find it for Years.
Next is my homemade Chicken and dumplins The dumplins are egg and flour dropped into the broth and not a bscuit

Another who loves all soups....just put bags of left-over vegetable in the freezer. Love a black bean tamali soup that is so simple, plus chicken and dumplings, and clam chowder, and, and...........!

Since I was given the recipe two years ago, Black-eyed Pea soup is my favorite. It is a very hearty soup and you know you've had a meal when you eat a bowl of it. I like cornbread with it.

I have a question. When you are buying ham for a soup, what do you buy? I never see ham hocks any more and the packaged deli ham is not very good.

My favorite soup is the Tortilla Soup served at Anthony's in Mazatlan, Mexico! It is tradition that we go there every year on the day we arrive. No wonder it's my favorite because it means I've got 2 weeks of vacation ahead of me!

Corn chowder made with bacon. Not a light, healthy soup, but fabulous!

I love soup, and I made chicken noodle yesterday. I also love bean with bacon and a new favourite is cream of broccoli. I often make a small loaf of French bread with it. I use broth that I've canned myself.

Odd you can't find ham hocks in Virginia - Smithfield and all. A decent substitute would be the packaged ham steak with the round bone in the middle. I've made it with the ham steak which gives you a good bit of ham to cube or shred up, but usually have a hock in the freezer since I dearly love yellow split pea soup.

Sue, if you have a Honey-Baked Ham store near you, they sell bones to make soup. Those bones make a mean bean soup!

Homemade chicken noodle is my favorite, tho canned Campbells Tomato with Ritz crackers is way up on my list of comfort foods.

I didn't even know there were Honey-Baked Ham stores. I googled and there aren't any in my zip code area.

I used to be able to buy the ends of the Spiral hams at Krogers, but they stopped selling them a few years ago, Don't know what they do with them now.

I don't really have absolute 'favorite' foods but my favorite soup today is chicken corn soup. The local firehouse holds an open house every year in October and it was today. They serve free food including the best chicken corn soup I've had anywhere. I swear it gets better every year. The corn was so sweet and it was so thick with chicken and rivels and hard boiled egg. I wish I had another bowl of it right now. It's never that good when I make it.

I love to make homemade soups in the fall and winter. Last week I made black bean. I add lemon juice when I am ready to serve it. I might make a veggie minestrone tomorrow. I like whole wheat rolls or cornbread with my soups.

I like all kinds, but my new favorite is stuffed green pepper soup..with a cornbread muffin.

Homemade Beef and vegetable soup W/loads of veggies

My Mother's Chicken Gumbo with lots of home grown tomatoes and okra mixed in - it's like gold around my house.

DH & I are on vaca this week - I had a couple cans of pumpkin so I made a low fat, low sugar pumpkin bread (yum!)- I had about 1 cup of pumpkin remaining and then poked through the frig and found a 1/4 head of cabbage, a 1/4 red onion, bacon bits, apple sauce, cooked hubbard squash, frozen apples & cooked carrots - and made soup. It is to die for. Who knew? I used a chicken base (no salt) & started with sauteed garlic, onions, mushrooms & added shredded cabbage. I put the pumpkin, squash, applesauce & carrots in the blender & then added all that to the sauteed stuff. REALLY GOOD. I am eating some right now!
