Now I know why I don't use my Mandoline!

I decided to give my little-used mandolin a shot, dicing the carrots and onions for my cabbage soup.

Geesh! How frustrating it was for me. By the time I figured to cut the carrots into chunks to fit the handle and slicer, then it julienned instead of diced. So I took all the julienne slices and sliced them into chunks.

What a major PIA. I might as well have just done it all with the knife to begin with! It looks so easy to see chefs or the hawkers at home shows use this thing, so it must be me.

For this reason, I don't have a Slap Chop.

You have to cut the veggie to fit the chopper anyway, so you might as well keep chopping.
