NO! Too starchy, and hate the texture.

Now that you mention that, I don't know where they come from. Never seen fresh either. I love them, even canned ones, but as I'm the only one who likes them, I don't think of them very often. Now I have a yearning for them.

I love lima beans, no matter how you make them. Love them in baked beans too.

I love Lima beans. When i make my bean soup, I use died large limas 1/2 & 1/2 with dried white beans. I even like the canned butter beans as aside vegetable. Years ago we had a big garden and as a gal who grew up in the city where there were no gardens, I planted all kinds of vegetables to see what they looked like when they grew. Lima beans were one of the vegetables that didn't produce, along with egg plant. I have never seen them fresh in stores either. Strange.

Never met a bean I didn't like.

I like lima beans; I especially prefer the Baby Limas. Actually like frozen better than canned.

I really like a bowl of butter beans, with some chopped onions, and a big piece of hot, buttered cornbread. Yummy!

I love lima beans and had a lot of them when I was in Georgia in the spring. I'm going to North Carolina later this week and hope to have them again.

Lima beans or butterbeans as they are called in the South are a hot weather crop and one of my favorite vegetables!! I grew up in Mississippi and my mom and other relatives always planted rows and rows of limas in the summertime. I've never met a Lima bean that I did not like! LOL
I still buy them frozen but never see fresh ones here in Arizona.

I do like the green limas and the dried limas very much. I prefer the baby limas. In fact, I can't think of a bean or pea off hand that I don't like.

The green limas are grown in the southern states. Here in Alabama, they are commonly called butter beans. Fresh butter beans are far superior in taste and texture than the frozen or canned to me. We also grow a large variety of field peas that aren't well know in other states such as white acre, ladyfinger peas, crowders such as the white zipper and purple crowder, pink eyes and black eyes. (I've probably forgotten a few varieties.) The black eyes are popular dried and I believe they're sold nationally.

If I remember correctly, there is also a pea grown in California similar to one our field peas but I don't remember the name of it. Maybe cow peas...I'm just not sure.

I love Lima Beans. Really love Succotash (spelling?) but no one else in my family likes Lima Beans so I never fixed either until recently. In my effort to eat more veggies, I bought a bag of frozen Succotash (the only brand I could find was Publix, the chain store brand) but it was really good. Do prefer the Baby Limas as I do Baby Green Peas.

I really like most beans, usually buy/cook dried. I cook the large dried limas quite frequently. I love the frozen green limas too. Back in my olden days, I even grew the green limas one year. Of course, homegrown is the very best.

I love all kinds of beans. I, too, prefer the tender, young lima's. Same with green peas. DS didn't like lima beans. To this day I find myself picking the lima's out of frozen mixed vegetables to put on my plate!

I should say that most beans don't do much for me but I do like kidney beans especially in chili. And I've put them in other things too like hotdish.

I put the canned ones drained in a frying pan add butter (lots) and
fresh garlic diced, Cover and let them get a bit browned. Yum!!

I LOVE lima beans. I get my fresh ones from our garden & I've seen them @ local farm markets. Dh planted pole limas this year & the vines grew to probably 10 feet tall. But for all the vines we have, I don't think we've had an abundance of crop, however. I think their growing season is just a tad to long for us to get a huge crop.

I've found that fresh or frozen limas taste better cooked in a pan on the stove, as opposed to cooking them in the microwave. Canned limas don't make any difference.

I like fresh, frozen, canned, dried, big or little size, Just hate to shell the fresh ones, but the the good eating makes it worth the effort.

I love them, but like Sue, I prefer the frozen baby limas.

Bee, those fresh limas are so good, but I can remember having to hull them as a kid and they are devils. LOL

We love lima beans--green and dried, and prefer the baby limas. I would much rather have frozen limas than canned. Cook them, then add milk, butter, salt and pepper. Yummy.

We always called them butter beans. I personally do not care for the green ones only the cooked dry ones. I just bought a package of them to cook last week. We also like Great Northern dry beans.

Beans are my favorite thing to eat.....If I were stranded on a desert island with one food it would be beans........any kind, any color and I grow as many of my own as possible.

You can do white sauce and cheese or anything else for that matter but just the flavor of the bean itself with a little sauteed bacon or drippings is all I want in mine...........

Love lima beans, starchy as they are! My husband, who only hates a handful of foods, will not eat them. I am the picky eater, though you couldn't tell by looking at me, LOL!
I once read that picky eaters have more taste buds in their mouth than others, thus their aversion to a lot of foods. Any truth to that?

we had very little beans maybr the kind you put into chili or baked beans. Next time I'm at the buffett I'll have to try them

MMMM,I love lima beans! But like kfca37 I forget to buy them.LOL I also love butter beans cooked with a chunk of salt pork or a ham bone and served with a big slice of cornbread.

I've forgotten to buy them, too! I'm with Sue.....I like frozen baby limas.

I also loved the ones we used to grow ourselves. They were a pain to shell, but so yummy! Maybe I'll try them next year, since I've had such a great season with my green beans. Limas require a longer growing season, though.

Yes I like them. The frozen baby ones are the best. I don't care for canned ones all that much but I will eat them.

The only beans I won't eat are black beans. Just don't like them at all.

I love Lima beans! Butter, salt & pepper. Yummmm! Also a casserole I make with Lima beans, Peaches & Cream corn in a cheese sauce with a little onion, some peppers and some Hot sauce to give it a kick.

I love lima beans too. My favorites are the baby limas, either fresh or frozen, cooked until they are soft, with butter, salt, and pepper. I also like lima beans in baked bean mixtures, and in succatash (cooked with corn and seasoned with bacon and celery salt).

One of my nephews didn't like lima beans when he was little. I remember my mom telling a story about serving him lima beans but not mentioning what kind of beans they were. They told him they were 'just beans'. Guess he must have been very young and gullible to fall for that. Anyway, as he was chewing his first bite he looked at her and told her 'tastes like they have lima in them'. LOL!

Yes, I do. I usually buy frozen and add bacon fat to the pot while simmering.
