For sure! That was one of the main reasons we picked the house design that we did! The kitchen window looks out over the pond. The kids' playsets were right out from the kitchen window also. I have a dishwasher, but it seems there are always a couple of things that I don't like to throw in the dishwasher.

Yes! The main kitchen has a window that looks out over the woods on the back of our property; the second kitchen has a window that looks out over the front of the property, with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.

Absolutely! I have a window over my kitchen sink. Years ago when DH was house hunting alone for us in another state, I told him that I had only 2 criteria for our new home. Number 1, the sink must have a garbage disposal and number 2, there must be a window over the kitchen sink. The house he found completely on his own, did have a window and he added a disposal before move in day. However, the day I moved in (I had not seen the house till that day) we discovered that the window was too high, or I was too short. I couldn't see anything but the sky! Two weeks later a new much bigger window was in place. I don't now and never have had an automatic dishwasher, never really wanted one. As long as I have a window to look out while doing dishes, I am a happy camper.

Yes, a double window overlooks the front of the house and driveway.
Another window overlooks the back patio, and the I have a triple window on the side, over a long server(with my indoor herb garden) that has a southeast exposure.

Nope. ;o( And I miss one. Our house in TN had one overlooking the backyard; in FL the kitchen window looked over the front yard.

We have a lot of windows in this house, but the kitchen is not in the right place for them. We have an open floor plan and the kitchen sink is practically in the center of it. When at the sink, I am looking over the counter bar and into the family room and breakfast nook. That is really my only complaint about this house. There are more things I do like about it. I didn't realize how much I would miss my moment of zen, reflecting on the outside world as I did dishes.

As a consulation, the laundry room has a nice window, a nice breeze coming through it today. ;o)

Yes, and one good thing about it is that I could always be in the kitchen and keep an eye on the kids in the back yard when they were playing.

We had a small double hung window over our sink and when we remodeled we enlarged the opening and put in a triple bay casement window. It was money well spent. And then we have a huge walk in bay window by the kitchen table.

Now that you mention it - they both need a good cleaning.

We do. It's great, looks over the window box, back deck, herb pot, yard and leaning squirrel feeder. lol On the sill I have assorted rocks and crystals.

I really like it because I don't have a dishwasher so it's nice to be distracted while I'm standing there. In the summer there's a hummingbird feeder on that window, too, so that's kind of fun.

Oh yes, I've always had one over the sink. Last house it faced East. This house it faces South.

Yes, I do. It looks out to our wooded back yard and gives me a good view of the suet feeder.

I do & adore having one after years of apt living- they never have them. No D/W & when DH wanted to have one installed I refused the offer. Ours look over the front lawn with bird bath & feeders, roadway and just across it, a horse pasture.

Sunsets and evening skies are glorious, watching newborn colts delightful, and the birds are very entertaining. Doing dishes last evening took longer than usual 'cause I watched as 5 male Cardinals 'dined.'

A very early riser, during full moons I often stand in wonder for as it begins to go down it seems I could put a ladder in the trees on far side of the pasture and just reach out and touch it. What a way to start the day!

Nope. I look at a nice backsplash though lol. The rest of the kitchen has windows. We have a dishwasher and DH and I split dish duties, so I don't spend a lot of time there. My next house I'd like to have one.

When I found this retirement community where I now live, they hadn't started building in the section I am in. They told me I could make some minor changes if I wanted to. Oh, yes, I did want to! One was a window over the sink, which meant rearranging the whole kitchen. Another was to put a door with window at the top, in the back of the garage. Gotta have windows! These windows look out onto my back deck where I have hanging containers and other plants, bird feeders, bird bath, etc. It faces south/west and I can see the same Blue Ridge Mountains that Wanda sees, just down the road a piece!

Yes, I do. Mine faces east this time. In Tulsa it was on the north side, in Tahlequah on the east side, in Oklahoma City on the west side, in Ponca City we had them on the north side in both houses we lived in there.

I do not have a window over my kitchen sink in the 'old' house. Used to be set up that way, but I had no counterspace. So when I redid the kitchen, and installed a dw, I had the sink moved to the corner. Freed up a LOT of workspace, and with a dishwasher, I don't spend a lot of time at the sink anyway, so I certainly didn't miss having the window right there. My kitchen is much more efficently arranged than it would have been if I'd kept the sink under the window.

Now, in the new house, the sink and window are centered on the long back wall. But I've got loads of counterspace, and an island, so I'll probably keep the sink where it is when I replace the chipped porcelain with stainless, and the yucky, ancient yellow formica countertop with a stainless steel one.

Yes, I have a window over my kitchen sink but not a large enough area for plants or cuttings. Would love to replace it with a bay window. None of our windows are good for houseplants. We have too much furniture (in front of windows) in a fairly small house.

This is not where I live now, but the house before. Don't have one of here.

No, our sink is on an island. But the nicest part is this is the biggest kitchen that I have had, and it has two 5'x5' windows in the opposite corner that face east and south so the kitchen is always bright and cheery and full of plants

No window over the sink in this house (all the other houses did!)....must have been a man designing this housing tract! I do have a glass sliding door to look out of when the Nevada sun is not beating in.

I have a "great room"...in Nevada that is the kitchen/dining/family room as an "all in one"! Not good when the kichen is not clean!!! :)

I sure do and love it! Actually, our sink is angled in a corner so we have 2 windows with different views. One thing that's very important to DH and I is that the back of the house opens to the yard. This house definitely does that, with almost floor-to-ceiling windows in the family room, french doors in the eating nook, and the corner window in front of the sink.

I do! I love it! It has jars of cuttings rooted, and a couple of african violets on the sill. The sill is tiled. This is only the second place I've had with a sink window. My mom's house had one, but it overlooked the shed roof. She used to feed birds on the shed roof so she could watch them eat.

No it doesn't BUT it does look out into the dining room and living room. Those rooms have french doors to the outside and other big windows. Does that count? I can see over the breakfast bar to who ever is in the other rooms. I feel pretty open at the sink. In a way its a HUGE window.

Sure do...just moved into this house in July,and my window looks out over the ocean...I can watch the fishing and pleasure boats go by all day long.

no, our sink is on our island and overlooks the kitchen table. Beyond the table are four windows looking outside. I really don't mind, because when someone keeps me company while washing dishes, I can look at them while they sit at the table. I'm still able to see the backyard pretty well from the sink too.

we do but it looks out on the side yard and a vacant lot next door...i love watching the change of seasons, and the critters who live there...
