Lordy Lordy, Chicka dee dee dee you brought a tear to my eyes too. Our little dog is 18 years old, losing her sight and quite deaf. But she keeps on going, with a little help from us, when she cannot make it up on the setee or the patio deck stairs, on her own steam. The though of not having her around is hard to deal with for sure. But it seems to be coming closer all the time. "Horton"

Returning tonight to the place where I first met so many of you who taught me about roses, not least of all, Carol, who introduced me to the stunning Etoile de Hollande that grows over her patio. Carol's ascerbic humor, her great kind heart, and her passion for her pups have always been at the forefront of our friendship. That she is gone from us is surreal. LA, many hugs to you. Sue

Our son's dog, Kate B. left us in her 12th year. She slept at my feet on the corner of the bed for so long that I automatically bent my right leg to make room for her even after she was gone. I told my DH that we had to find another friend. He said we could not replace her. I told him that was true but a new little friend would help to fill the void she had left (I boohoo'd for what seemed like weeks...my son could not believe I took it so hard). Six weeks later Tess came into our lives, all 1 3/4 lbs of her and she has been the best dog of our 42 year marriage. She loves us both, loves to talk to our grown son on the phone...hates his 4 huge cats! We just took in 2 black feral kittens we found under our house. I thought Tess was going to disown us. LOL She loves to tattle on what they are up to and with those two they are ALWAYS up to something (what was I thinking!). The good Lord shared a wonderful friend like Tweed and surely HE will send you another that will help you during the trying times you are dealing with. Hi all, My pkg. from Carol was waiting for me when I came home today: ) I It was filled with all kinds of good stuff! She sent me a wonderful 10 iris assortment. a White Japanese Yellow Flag Honey Glazed Superstition a pretty purple a red Beverly Sills a light blue heirloom Arctic Snow and Champagne Along with all the iris she sent a couple of frogs(figurines not live ones, lol) a bathsoap set a lavendar/vanilla candle a dog magnet- my husband already put it on the fridge. and a flag pin- she must of remembered I collect pins! oh and the hat! I told my husband he has to take my picture. Thanks Carol for such a great box! I did get all the iris potted tonight, so I happy about that. My husband even asked what he has to do after the operation for all the plants. It is very sweet of him, but very funny. I'm thinking don't you notice me dragging the hose around after work? lol. I drove out to Rochester alone to the big garden show there, but I specifically went when Brent of Brent and Becky's bulbs was speaking.
