Going to a Vietnamese noodle house, any recommendations?

friend and I are going to have lunch before seeing a friend in hospital.

Any recommendations for eating? Saigon Noodle House

What about a sandwich? etc

Since it's a noodle house I would get Pho or Bun . Pho is a noodle soup. Bun is a meal in a bowl consisting of vermicelli rice noddles and veggies topped with meat or meats of your choice. It usually comes with dressing and a side of herbs you add yourself.

Yes, get the Pho! We go out for Vietnamese soup often. Claude and I love it and all our kids do too. It's delicious! I recommend it with rare beef (served in very thin slices). You can get the pho with tripe and/or beef balls (which are kind of rubbery), but I prefer without. Claude's always more adventurous than me. With the soup you'll get a plate of bean sprouts on the side that you can add if you want, and there's always Hoisin sauce and hot chili sauce on the table that you can add if you like.

Vermicelli with barbecued chicken and a spring roll is another of my favourites. It usually has peanuts in it, too.

Thanks all. We were originally supposed to have a slab but can't now because of soil conditions. A basement isn't an option. I will research a bit more on the conditioned vs. dehumidifier pros & cons. and just a note that as a general rule spraying doesn't do anything for BR spiders unless it's directly to the source, which is why infestations become so problematic. lazygardens, my husband and I had to laugh at your "concrete barrier" in caps, comment. We know you are right! And know we are a bit irrational on this, but until you are sleeping with them and taking apart your toasters and couches with mirrors and flashlights before moving, you can't appreciate the reason behind our insanity :-)

As suggested try and get the menu ahead. Or call them. Must be something in the vegetarian section that is without fish sauce. With allergies and vegans and so many dietary needs i would think you could find something. And how do you know you don't like it? Having a spoonful straight from the bottle is rather strong. Worcestershire also has anchovy. Here is a screen-shop from my favorite lunch spot... I made Pho Tai and Goi Bo at home last night as a trial run for a dinner party that includes a vegetarian...i'll be making two broths, and two noodle dishes, and one dipping sauce was fine without fish sauce using BraggsAmino and a vegan/no gluten soy.

$30k is an insane cost for a bathroom so small. Even paying a contractor to do the work with modest finishes, but good quality, will run between $8k and $12k. Especially if the fixtures stay in the same location and only get exchanged for new. An architect is always a good investment. An architect will help you with design ideas, can curate material, fixture and finish choices based on your tastes and can oversee the work being done by the contractor to ensure that everything is done properly, up to code, and according to design. The average homeowner is not equipped to adequately oversee a contractor's work. I've had so many clients come to me after a botched renovation because they didn't understand the contractor was taking short cuts and it cost them thousands more to fix. All time and money that would have been saved had they had a professional licensed architect working for them and protecting their interests. Classic Comfort, de nada. You're very welcome. Wow! What a party. There were about 50 or 60 people there and enough food for 300, including but certainly not limited to a roast suckling pig. No fish that I could see, but lots of prawns in various dishes. An interesting salad that was watercress and shallots in a vinegary dressing. The woman beside me that it was to "cut all the fat." Stiry fried veggies and grilled zucchini and mac and cheese LOL! No one seemed to bring alcohol as a gift. Orchids were popular for the birthday girl. It was a wonderful experience and they wouldn't let us leave without a plate of the sucking pig and a plate .of desserts.
