Peach Cobbler Dump Cake

1 (18.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix

1 (32-ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup

1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted

Ground cinnamon for sprinkling

Vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream for accompaniment

Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C).

Pour peaches along with the syrup into the bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle evenly with the dry cake mix and press down firmly. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Sprinkle top lightly with cinnamon.

Bake for 45 minutes. Serve warm or cool with vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream if desired.

Makes 12 servings.

I've made something similiar to that before Glender. I think it was Cracker Barrel's Cobbler I was trying to copy. Just guessed at the ingredients.

Sounds great to me. Must have the Ice Cream too!

No, I suggested to NTEP that they should take pictures, but not sure that will happen for this next round of tests. You have to trust the data. They do have stats on color, blade width, drought tolerance, disease resistance, etc. You have to look at the full report, not just your area, then you will see the other tests. Don't get me wrong, Faith is a great choice, but there are ones that have better brown patch resistance. Also you have to realize that a 7.3 vs a 6.9 in quality or color is almost indistinguishable.

I've you've ever walked by a pallet of bagged mushroom compost you'd catch a whiff of why its not real popular fresh, but I've got room to isolate it and after a day or so it doesn't stink as much unless it rains. When I get it, I usually have to let is sit for a good while before using it, but its rich. Usually I empty the trailer onto a big brush pile, by the time I've gottent ot the bottom of hte pile there is nothing left of the sticks, they are all just eaten up as the pile cooks. And it is cooking too when I get it, one itme I finished late in the evening in mild weather, after I rinsed down the borrowed trailer, the trailer itself kept steaming for 10 minutes... But there is no point in paying anything for other people's yard trash. You can get that cruising the neighborhoods during leaf season.

Mattson what evap coil was quoted? you do want the tin plated "T" mdl. a very nice system with excellent overall pricing taking into consideration the tax credit, Bryant and utility rebates. a suggestion. I would check into the sgl stage Preferred 15 and Preferred 17 and see how this would effect your pricing. I think for your small home, either of these mdls would be a better choice. IMO

A quarter cup sounded really large to me too - even if sage in cake is okay which sounds odd to me. The whole thing reminds me of a pumpkin gingerbread trifle my DIL tried last week. A lot of work and to me the end result had too many tastes fighting with each other. The plain gingerbread with a bit of whipped cream or lemon sauce was better. I think the whole idea of using my whip cream canister with hot contents and a triple charge sounds scary. The instructions that came with it certainly don't cover that kind of use (or abuse).

I've made the same cake with my fresh-frozen cherries we harvested this year. Only I put crushed pineapple on the bottom (no juice) and mixed in some coconut. YUM!

My mother makes a delicious dump cake with canned cherry pie filling and chocolate cake mix. Yours sounds good. I have 500 peaches on a tree that will be ripe later this month. I'm always looking for recipes.

I just happen to have the cake mix and the peaches. Think I'll make this tomorrow.

For years I've made a fruit cobbler that was supposed to be from a recipe that someone paid $10 for. It always turns out great, buy this is even easier. I like Easier!

BTW I've been getting really good canned freestone peaches at Sharp Shopper, either DelMonte brand or Lady Elberta brand. (Elberta peaches are freestone.) I like FS much better than cling.

I have some Butter Pecan ice cream,too. Bet that would be delicious with it!

Never been a fan of peaches. But some other fruit could easily be substituted I'm sure. And make mine TWO scoops of ice cream, please.

My cousin likes to make pineapple upside down cake with crushed pineapple, cherries and then use a yellow cake mix prepared according to instructions poured over it. Uses 2 layer cake pans and has two cakes. He keeps one for himself and his GF takes the other to work with her and it gets scarfed up quickly.

Now you'll have to excuse me while I go chuckle to myself. The mention of "cling peaches" reminded me of the All in the Family episode where Edith damaged a car with a can of cling peaches... in HEAVY SYRUP!

i have also made that many times.it is delicious! I also make what I call "Magic Cobbler".
Melt a stick of butter in the bottom of a 11X13 baking pan.
Mix together until smooth,1C sugar,1 C flour,1 C milk,1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. baking powder and pour over melted butter.Pour a large can of peaches or any other desired fruit and the juice evenly over the batter mixture.bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until lightly browned on top.Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.I use pineapple chunks,fruit cocktail,just about any fruit or mixture of fruits packed in juice will do.The "crust" rises to the top when it's done.I also make this with granulated Splenda instead of sugar.Use only 3/4 cup of Splenda as it is sweeter than sugar,I think.
Cynic-My mom made that pineapple upside down cake too.One of my favorites.She always made it in a cast iron skillet.She used pineapple slices with a cherry in the center of each slice.Melted butter and brown sugar in the bottom of the skillet first.MMM I'm getting hungry!LOL
