See if there is an options tab top right in the mail area, click it see if the classic option is listed.

Just my humble opinion, but if Classic Mail does disappear entirely, don't be surprised. When changes like this happen, it's usually because those in charge think their new way is better (or more profitable) and they won't devote time & effort to support the old way of doing things indefinitely. Trying to get you used to the new way of doing things is just their way of breaking it to you gently. Now might be the right time to learn how to install and use an email client of your choice that can be customized to suit your needs rather than leave your mail in the hands of those who are making changes you don't like. There are many good, free programs available. I use Thunderbird.

Or maybe you don't access your account as often and just missed the window of downtime. Its problems are way more often this last week than other times. It's acting up right now. Try the link I have farther up the thread, and you'll see how large a chunk of time it's been misbehaving today. It's a moving graph so it won't show you Monday, for instance. not right this moment for me, but it was earlier and it absolutely was on Monday. Or maybe I only hit it when it wasn't working. Either way, I think you're dismissing things you shouldn't dismiss. Yahoo is having trouble right now. It'd be nice if it worked every time one opened their mail. Which is what one would expect from a mail provider. I've been with them for a very long time. It's my only email provider outside of work. I won't change. But to say it's smooth sailing, what's wrong with you? just shows you're either A) lucky, B) don't access it as often as others, or C) are oblivious(?).

Last nite was almost the final straw. It was slow loading, as usual and a window popped up to say it was slow and do I want to switch to Basic view to speed it up? I did and when I clicked on my messages the Reply, Delete etc were all gone! So reading the messages was useless. The Options, Help and Sign out buttons weren't clickable either. Good Grief!!! I did read my mail using IE, but that isn't the point. What the heck? I don't like Gmail and don't want Hotmail, so not sure what to do. You guys are lucky, that can still use the old version. Under the Help button here one of the FAQ is if the old version can be kept and the answer is no, we can't use that one anymore. Oh, I cleaned my history, cache and cookies this morning. I do malware, spyware etc etc regularly.
