What a week!

TGIF--and I mean it! Seems like nothing's gone right this week, but Wednesday DH and I went for his PT appointment and after that he had an appointment with the congestive heart failure clinic. He'd had blood work and the results were terrible. He's on way too many meds, including 3 blood thinners, Coumadin, Plavix and an adult aspirin every day. He was so anemic they admitted him into the hospital and gave him 2 units of blood. His blood sugar was off the wall so they've been giving him insulin shots. He also had blood in his stool. He'd just had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy about 7 weeks ago so thankfully they were able to use those results instead of having to go through all that prep and stuff again.

Anyway, he's coming home today. Got to leave soon to go to Gainesville and pick him up. Yippee!! They think the blood was from diverticulosis, which showed up on the colonoscopy. They've taken him off the Coumadin and Plavix. Thank heavens!

I'll sure be glad to have my baby home again!! Anyway I have a lot of catching up to do here, but now I'm off for G-ville.

I did not see his green sapote, but his McDill white sapote was covered with softball sized fruit! I've got a list of nurseries still to visit but these guys made an excellent start. At Exotica it took all my will not to pull a chair up to the sample table and start feasting. At Papaya Tree, Alex had a pineapple/lemon tropical guava that so permeated my sinuses I can still smell it. I dont know about mail order, but walking in was a treat. -Ethan

Jim, I actually had worse luck, as a %, from other sellers. One order from CT of 6 bulbs was 100% mislabeled or rotten, another smaller order of 2 was 100% mislabeled. I ordered nearly 30 bulbs from RC and had a few problems with a couple rotten bulbs and 4 mislabeled (want some LaPango?). I think that this year they expanded their circle of suppliers to offer some special bulbs. I believe we have seen the last of these sorts of offers and next year will be standard offerings with few specials. Unfortunately, RC depends on their suppliers for quality and the correct id. Patti, glad to hear your hubby is home. We have had a week like this, too. We went south for the holiday and came home early. Put hubby in the hospital on Tuesday. His lungs were filled with fluid. Now he is on 4 meds. Went to the heart doctor today. His office call was $175.00. In time he will be back to normal.. Sure keeps a person hopping. He has to go in and have his blood checked every day for 2 weeks. I am sure we will be back to normal soon.

Thanks for your kind words. He's home and mighty happy about it. They took him off the Coumadin and Plavix and put him on iron tabs--3 a day! All's well with my world today.

Susie, I hope your DH gets well soon. It sure can be a worry. And Glenda, thanks for the hug. I really needed one.
