Loved John Denver.

He was at his height of popularity during my daughter's high school years. She had all his albums in her collection. Daughter moved on, but I have kept the albums and play them often. Some have been replaced in cd form. John Denver is sort of the bridge between my love of classical and bluegrass music. He was one of the best of his time.

I have a photo of me with John Denver taken back in 1970.

I can remember that movie, Sunshine on My Shoulder, being the saddest movie. It was about a young woman dying of cancer.
I was sobbing while watching it and my youngest son came and sat down next to me. He patted my shoulder and told me not to be sad because some people had to die when it was time.
He was killed by a falling tree a couple of months later while we were camping.
Very emotional when I hear that song.

John Denver is one of my husband's favorites. He died so young.
